2019 marks the introduction of a new addition to the already rich Manual Music label family. Manual Deep will focus on the deeper and dreamy side of electronic music. True listening pearls that are a bit too deep for it's parent label, but are simply too good to ignore.

Canadian duo Beije have the honor to kick off the new label with what is their first ever official release, only having put out a self released EP on their Bandcamp thus far. 

'Botanical' takes you away on a smooth journey, transporting you into a dreamlike state. It is dark and melancholic, but quite airy at the same time with it's clear ethnic influences and subtle echoing choir additions. 

A proper debut by the Toronto based duo, and a proper Manual Deep calling card, setting a high standard for what's to come.

Beije - Botanical [Manual Deep 001]

After his well received MNL debut 'Microcrystals' a couple of months ago and after celebrating the launch of his own HRBR (Harbour Saigon) label, it's time to welcome the classically trained and ridiculously talented Vietnamese producer (or should we say musician) B.A.X. back within the Manual Music label family.

This time he presents us with a stunningly beautiful tearjerker titled 'Moongazer'. A warm and emotional piece, showcasing once again B.A.X.'s vast potential and musicality. The original mix is accompanied by an equally mindblowing reprise which truly does justice to the beauty of this composition.

A proper continuation of the Manual Deep label, after Beije's celebrated 'Botanical' release last January.

Moongazer

B.A.X. - Moongazer [MANUAL DEEP 002]

Toronto based duo Beije make their return on Manual Deep after having kicked off the label with their well received 'Botanical' single at the beginning of this year. A release that instantly put the Manual Music subsidiary firmly on the map of the electronic music landscape. Something which was further cemented by the heavenly beautiful 'Moongazer' release by B.A.X. that followed in March.

'Magellanic Clouds' is a proper heady tension builder. A blend of subtle arps, teasing synth- and piano shots, eerie soundscapes and a mysterious vocal make this a sentimental piece of work which will leave the listener with a warm feeling of melancholia.

Yet again a stunning piece of work by these Canadian newcomers who have a bright future ahead of them.

The Manual Deep saga continues. After two fantastic releases by Beije and a lovely single by B.A.X. now it's time for release number four on the Manual Music subsidiary. 

Having released on the MNL label before, Argentinian based duo Beije are not complete strangers to the Manual label family. With 'Negrero' they deliver a beautiful piece of electronic music. Warm and teasing throughout. Intelligently produced, rich of detail and warmth, it's a perfect next step for the Manual Deep label.

Abity - Negrero [MANUAL DEEP 004]

B.A.X. makes his return on Manual Deep after his 'Moongazer' single received a lot of praise earlier this year. The Vietnamese producer is rapidly making a name for himself with a steady stream of quality- and highly musical output. The classically trained pianist has already released his music on labels such as MNL, 3rd Avenue and Muak Music and there's much more where that came from.

His new single 'Solitude' picks up where 'Moongazer' left. A moody melancholic piano melody sets the mood and is accompanied by an intelligent- and highy effective beats and percussive arrangement making it suitable for both on- and off the dance floor.

As with 'Moongazer' we've asked him to create a beatless reprise version so the beauty of his arrangement really gets a chance to shine thru.

B.A.X. - Solitude [MANUAL DEEP 005]

Behrouz's Do Not Sit On The Furniture label looks back on an exceptional 2019 with this compilation of all the key tracks form their last 12 months.

As well as their much talked about residency in Ibiza at Heart this summer, Do Not Sit continued to hold down the underground house sound they are so well known for back home in Miami, and made waves across the world with always deep, spiritual, journey sounds that make a true emotional impact. Here, the best tunes of 2019 are all served up to give a great overview of this most tasteful and considered label.

There are gems like Seth Schwarz's 'Animals At The Watering Hole,' Modd's spine tingling Vishaya, Ruede Hagelstein's enchanting 'Dort' and the majestic melodies and cosmic vibes of 'Ventura' from Dee Montero. Elsewhere, Re.You takes you on a hypnotic house trip, desert house champs Death on the Balcony layer up superbly tender vocals and chords on two different contributions, and Miyagi, Wild Dark and El Mundo & Zazou all add to the deeply immersive feelings and heady grooves.

This is a fine overview of one of house music's most vital labels.

After his successful Manual Music debut last year German producer Renga Weh will make his return on the label later this year, but not before debuting on the Manual Deep subsidiary with 'Torbole'.

'Torbole' is a subtle and delicate deep melodic house track. Proper dance floor warm up material as well as a moody listening experience, this song is expected to touch the hearts of many.

DE: PopHop dreht auf seinem First Drive, seiner ersten EP, noch eine Extrarunde und überlässt das Ruder zu diesem Zweck einer illustren Auswahl von Remixern. Zigan Aldi versetzt uns mit warmem Klimpern und der schwerelosen Trompete von JPattersson in einen Zustand des freien Falls – und gerade wenn wir vergessen, wo oben und wo unten ist, fängt uns der treibende Groove von “Romania” auf. Bonfante überzieht das rhythmische Skelett von “Slovakia” mit einer zu Melodie gewordenen Gänsehaut und der gehauchten Tiefe ihrer Stimme.
Für den zweiten Teil seiner First Drive Remix Reihe hat sich PopHop die Groove Altmeister Dole & Kom an Bord geholt. Auf schwitzig-ekstatischem Beat entspinnen die beiden eine auf den Punkt gebrachte Version von “Poland”, deren rhythmisch-melodische Stimulation mit medizinischer Präzision ins Blut geht. Außerdem ist Timboletti mit dabei, der “Slovakia” mit genüsslicher Verpeiltheit seziert und daraus eine wunderbar surreale Downbeat Nummer baut, in deren Umlaufbahn die Instrumentierung des Originals ihre Bahnen zieht.

EN: PopHop extends his First Drive, his first EP, and invites some illustrious co-pilots to take us to a magnificent place known as the world of remixes. Zigan Aldi move using warm chinks and jingles as well as the weightless sound of JPatterson’s trumpet, he sends us in a state of freefall - and just when we forget where’s top and where’s bottom, he picks us up with the driving groove of “Romania”. Bonfante uses the rhythmic backbone of “Slovakia” to unfold a sonic texture made of melodic goosebumps, perfectly complemented by the ethereal deepness of her voice.
For the second part of his First Drive remix series PopHop invited groove veterans Dole & Kom aboard. Their sweaty, ecstatic version of “Poland” stimulates us with a rhythmic and melodic precision as effective and compelling as a potent medicine. Then there’s Timboletti who dissects “Slovakia” with inebriate gestures, just to create a wonderfully surreal Downbeat track with the instrumentations of the original still circulating in it’s sonic orbit.

Next up on Exotic Refreshment we welcome Agawe, duo of producers from Turkey. Together they produced percussive and melodic textures with their own sound designs for the gem of their two weeks seclusion in a studio in the forest. The duo presents the EP with afro house and modern melodic touches while being inspired by the balance between wilderness and serenity for their leitmotive.

'Confused Karma' turns into an indefinable wildness with the mixed of ethereal vocal, cosmic pads, tribal zippy percussions, rhythmic synth flute pattern, field recordings and lead melodies illuminating two different stories.

'Leza' elicits a dynamic flow with the native flutes, tropical creatures, orchestral instruments, swinging synth, african vocal and percussions arising from an enchanted jungle.
