Hello and welcome to our first episode of the 𝗞𝗨𝗡𝗘 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀 podcast series. 

For the 1st episode we invited 𝗔𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮 to establish an intimate connection and hear about what makes her tick. She is a young, skilled and charming Copenhagen based DJ and producer from Romania, whose inspiration of the Romanian underground scene led her to pursue her own musical path through dark, twisted grooves, that oscillate between minimal and breakbeat. 

𝗞𝗨𝗡𝗘 𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝘂𝘁𝘀 is an initiative to bring forth the human connection aspect. We want to emphasise what makes experiencing music together so special and how that plays out in our lives. Our focus is to spotlight some of the artists from the local electronic scene that will be performing at 𝗞𝗨𝗡𝗘 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭.

Extras 002: Method Collective takeover

Pioneer probably gets banded about more than it should, but Mr. G has been heavily involved in the UK’s house and techno scene since the early ‘90s. A founding member of legendary techno crew The Advent, and releasing music under several guises along the way. He settled as Mr.G more than 20 years ago, releasing records on labels like Defected, Warm Sounds, Bass Culture, Boiler Room, DBA (to name a few) plus a string (or more like a rope) of self released records on his own label Phoenix G. He has toured all over the world and if his Boiler Room is anything to go by, his live set looks like its a spectacle well worth trying to see in the flesh. 

This mix celebrates years of dreams coming true. It is made up of records he bought during his many trips to Tokyo, a place he holds dear in his heart. Jam packed full of hard to find and unheard gems that span the electronic music scene, this Shop Sounds will go down as a future classic. It pays homage to the city where he brought back fabrics for his wife and partner in crime Cath during every trip. Little did either of them know that over two decade later these fabrics would form the basis of their next chapter. But more on that coming up soon, keep em peeled folks over on www.wellgosh.com

We continue our journey of uncovering gems. Next up on the mag is Lyo aka Lyonel De Vos. Mostly associated with the NUT Records shop, which he set up with good friend Tunello, he’s a record dealer appreciated by DJs big and small, near and far. Belgian blooded, global kid, based in Barcelona. Oh and did we mention his record collection?!

Taking influences from his past - in Belgium with "electronic disco, proto house and all sorts of weird hybrid stuff", the minimal scene in Barcelona and his continued digging journey up to this point - Lyo delivers his personal take. 

"I've always been more into moods rather than styles", and for this podcast, he's got us in a mood alright: Diving into the unknown with menacing retro synths, funky rhythms, groovy basslines, emotional melodies and tasteful vocals, he warms up the stratosphere with the deep and industrial, leading towards a dancefloor in ecstasy, closing in style with a dub mix of Belgian synth-pop disco track "Love Sweet Love".
