Reduced is a new series that strips sound back to its most transcendental, restorative and atmospheric textures to block out the noise and aid focus, attunement and relaxation. Each one will be paired with a mental health charity and be accompanied by an interview focussed on self-care. The combination of all three will create an evolving resource of knowledge and experience that provides solace, inspiration, reassurance and company in difficult times.

Charlie’s paired his mix with Black Minds Matter, a UK charity who provide free mental health services for the Black community, as well as working to break down the stigmas around mental health in those communities.

Up next we have Manuel Darquart with an eclectic offering for Bside. Originating from New Zealand, the duo first released in 2016 before moving to London. Since the move to the big smoke, they have released on Coastal Haze, Childsplay and CC Disco’s first compilation. The pair have also released on the renowned  Dutch label Infinite Pleasure and London’s Wolf which led to a remix EP from non other than Don Carlos. Over time they have played at Corsica, The Cause & Ministry of Sound and an all-nighter at the famous Spiritland.

Kick-back and enjoy this classy contribution to the 'Bside Incoming' series with the NZ duo delivering a warm, breezy selection spanned over the course of two fine hours.

“for the mix I've tried to combine the sounds that I've been loving lately, from slo-house, down tempo to a more dreamy, paradise and balearic rhythms. With many years in the game and after having residencies both in argentina and now in Melbourne, I like to say my mixes feel like stories that make you wonder. 

I don't care about mixing different styles or being eclectic, most of the sets I do here go for 3, 4 hours so I like flowing between styles and surprising the crowd with different atmospheres, all stitch together with fine taste ;)”
