This soundscape was created as part of a project for the Sound Design course in the Master's program in Design and Multimedia. It portrays the morning routine of someone leaving home and walking through the city on their way to work. Along the way, we follow the character as they pass construction sites, the lively sounds of children playing, and the constant flow of traffic. The piece aims to capture the atmosphere of an ordinary city morning in motion. I hope you enjoy the experience. :)

Sound Design - Mixing Exercise 1 - DAWN

While tidying up the kitchen after a meal, I decided to record the entire process for the Sounds of the Week project. You can hear me washing the dishes as a rather unusual radio programme plays in the background.

Week Sound 1 - Home Environment (washing the dishes)

This was recorded in the afternoon in my home backyard. It was a calm and beautiful day, with birds singing and the wind gently moving through the trees.

Week Sound 2 - Natural Sounds (birds singing)

This was recorded right after I left a dentist appointment, during a heavy rainstorm. As soon as I reached my car, I took a couple of minutes to capture the sound of the 5 PM traffic while the rain completely drenched me.

Week Sound 3 - Urban Sounds (rainy street)

I was doing one of my weekly kickboxing workouts when I remembered to record it for Sounds of the Week. You can hear the rhythm of punches and kicks hitting the bag, along with my breathing accompanying each strike.
