<b>Disquiet Junto Project 0053 Ice for 2013 </b>


Recorded 10 seconds of small ice block in 2 different glasses, each chosen for its particular sound/ring.

These were edited & mixed, then fed into ambient v.3.5 and processed for about 14 minutes, The original track was stretched and “spaced” using Signaldust ( a free plugin) into 2 ambient/drones, then the granular track was cut up and selected sections overlaid, reversed and processed through filters to create this. As usual, there was a fair bit of experimentation and serendipity involved.

Assignment:  Please record the sound of an ice cube rattling in a glass, and make something of it.

Background: Longtime participants in, and observers of, the Disquiet Junto series will recognize this single sentence as the very first Disquiet Junto project, the same one that launched the series on the first Thursday of 2012. Revisiting it a year later provides a fitting way to begin the new year. A weekly project series can come to overemphasize novelty, and it's helpful to revisit old projects as much as it is to engage with new ones. Also, by its very nature, the Disquiet Junto suggests itself as a fast pace: a four-day production window, a weekly habit. It's beneficial to step back and see things from a longer perspective.

Bio:
Manuel Pisu was born in Legnano, Italy in 1987.Techno was a part of HIS life at an early age. At only 17 he was already djing in the local clubs. As the years progressed so did his sets, filled with high energy tunes that brought in the crowds. In early 2011 that passion inspired him to add a sequencer to his sets which gave him that extra touch of freshness when played. Later in the same year he reached one of his goals, signing his first EP on Elektrax Recordings (My Identity), which then opened up other signing opportunities on Shout Records (The day after) ,Darknet (The forest Of Horrors)and many others.
The positive feedback helped him get supported by artists such as Electrorites , Positive Merge , Sasha Carassi , Spiros Kaloumenos , Sebastian Groth ,Dj Hi-Shock , Torsten Kanzler just to name a few.
Manuel is always exploring, finding new ways to craft his music, giving him the edge to succeed.
