I started zoning out to this beat around Halloween & it was really pushing me to tell a scary story, but I wanted to do that without being corny. So I thought to myself, I should tell a REAL LIFE scary story. Started thinking back to the day I was sentenced to 4 Years... Yea that was scary. Everything from feeling like the prosecutor wanting to hang me, to being ready to fight for my sneakers, this is not another tale I would like to relive.

Soon as I heard this beat, I thought of some classic 50cent shit!!! I just knew I had to keep it gully & talk that fly street shit I know all to well. The name of track came to me during the writing of my second verse, where I got the concept to liken money to different Instruments, being money is a instrument of sorts, it moves people as music does, Some more then others of course... The highlight of the track for me was the special appearance of my long time friend & partner in rhyme A-Lyricz. My boy never disappoints!

It's crazy how one minute you're laughing and joking and the next you're screaming and scrapping! Too Late is based on one them nights out as a troubled youth with my niggaz smoking and drinking. 

I've learned a lot since then, though still not perfect I'm able to look back on those past experiences with a new level of understanding!

Thats Not ReaL was recorded before the whole Bandana Manny concept was thought up. Me & Firzt knew we wanted to use it for our next project but didn't know exactly what that project was. Turned out to be a perfect fit. Its basically a look at where we at in life, from the street to the internet, so much BULLSHIT everywhere you look, & listen. I know I'm not the only one fed up with it?!? Shout to Lockz, which is Firzt younger brother. Whats Dope about that is while me & Firzt was perfecting our craft in one room, he was in the other listening & learning, crafting skills of his own, & he grew up to be a beast TOO!!! Check em out!!!

I Care was the last beat Firzt sent to me for this project... I knew we was dealing with a classic but it was TOO hard, it was missing something sweet, you know, for the ladies. Soon as I heard the sample & beat I knew, the words just came to me. My girl always like to complain & say I have more songs for strippers then I do her so here it is... Our own personal love story from where it started to present day. Love You BABY!!!

Bandana Manny "I Care" (Track 6)

Mike Brown & Eric Garner are just 2 names off a long list of victims who lost their life to police brutality. Hearing about these tragedies not only bothered me but moved me in a way that needed expressing. I wrote this song as if I were them, "7 Hours" after the tragic incidents happened. I expressed the confusion, anger, & sadness I felt as If it was their soul reflecting on what happened to them just 7 hours earlier. Hip Hop is art form of expression, its origins come from street poets stepping up & speaking out against the injustice of our people and/or our culture & I'm just trying to play my part....

When I look into the mirror nowadays I could see my cousin that just passed away, I still see us as kids, and then as teenagers, I could almost taste the tears we’ve shed and hear the laughs we’ve shared… gone too soon… I see my baby Melody being born, her beautiful eyes looking at me fresh out of the womb like she’s known me for ages. I see the struggle and pain my queen had to go through to get her here. I see my sisters… I could still see them as kids, mommy telling me, “Your the big brother, its your job to look after them.” I see my nieces & nephew, and the joy they bring to my life. I see everything my father has done for me,  I see the hard times me and my mother had to grow through… I see the all the hurt from pain that I’ve caused… & I could see the loving smiles I’ve been lucky enough to come across. I see my failures, & disappointments, but I also see my triumphs and success. Most importantly I see room for improvement, in all aspects of life… & sometimes… I could almost see the future… & I have to say, it is starting to look promising.

I.S.S.W stands for "I Sample So What" which was the title of my long time friend & producer Firzt Born's debut instrumental album back in 2013. It was only right I pick 13 beats from it & make "The Man-u-iLL Edition". This album marks the first time me & Firzt did a whole project together.
