Amazing Records - Christan Kliché - Synthesis (Artist Album) German artist Christian Kliché's musical upbringing was really much into the heavier side of rock'n'roll: the Cologne born producer started off beating the shit out of every kind of percussive instrument he could lay his hands upon, going then on to attend a workshop at the renowned Music Academy Remscheid held by none else than Udo Ladies, drummer of the legendary Judas Priest. Electronic music was the next step thanks to the influence of Techno stars Thomas P. Heckmann, Chris Liebing and Speedy J. His LP on Amazing Records shows off his impressive studio abilities, coming up with a wild bunch of tracks that could have easily fit in the selection of some underground dj playing the original Tresor in Berlin or be found as the soundtrack to today's most outrageous Berghain parties. "Intro" is chugging and gloomy with a crazy synth line, while "Expoxil"'s crescendo of atmospheres bursts into a 4/4 steady rhythm and creepy vocal snippets. "Tolu"'s misty and obscure tones move onto "Molokular"'s twisted groove and clunks. "Eitanpera" is heavy and hypnotic, with a few stop-and-gos thrown in for good measure, while "Neuter"'s cavernous and kick-drum driven flow play along ghostly samples. "Naphtol" is more minimalistic and stripped down, yet very powerful; "Pyrolypse" has a post-apocalyptic feel, very obscure and shady, and "Glytzerin" boasts a tense industrial mood. "Cyanac" is grimy and pumping, and "Outro" closes the release on a trippy electronica note.

OVER 001 - MiniCoolBoyz and NHB - That's OVER!

Italian Techno prodigies MiniCoolBoyz and NHB join forces together on this incendiary 3 track EP on their recently born label Over. A new point of reference in the underground scene worldwide, the imprint stands out as a true-to-the-roots and no-compromise music outlet: this very first release sees the guys come up with some blasting and punchy cuts, heavy-as-fuck and menacingly stomping through the speakers and the dancefloors. Opener “Over”’s skizoid synth squeals and oozing satanic atmospheres are underpinned by a gigantic kick drum and mammoth bass line; “Placebo”’s raging stabs and macabre melodies build a wall of sound as big as you can imagine, and the fat low frequencies smash through the sonic spectrum to a pumping flow of energy. Closing “Knowless” slows down momentarily the pace to a trippy vibe, and the result is a black paranoid lullaby. These cats know their tricks, and we can’t wait to hear more from this project.

Many Reasons - Abrasive

When the Minicoolboyz changed their brand name to Many Reasons in late 2014, they were ready to embark on a new techno adventure. A bold move! Since then they have worked relentlessly on finding a new "language" to express their exciting and cutting edge sounds.

With the 'Call Up EP' they present us with three refined, peak time compositions that will elevate techno-sets for months to come. The EP's title track 'Call Up' consists of a thick, rolling groove, that is accompanied by a subtle but monstrous sub layer. The horn sounds and delay-effect filled percussions provide an overall transcendental vibe.

The 'Optic' slow burner steadily drills itself into one's consciousness. The massive kick drum glides through the track, while the sleek, minimal melody pattern adds an hypnotizing feel.

Many Reasons are closing out the EP with 'Invasive'. A rawer combination of moody sounds and crisp hi-hats are weaving a tight web around profound percussion sounds. A heads-down trip into the darker corners of techno.

Many Reasons - Dream After

Many Reasons are back on Amazing Records with the first of a series of exclusive EPs on the label: going deep into Techno mode, the guys here deliver two fine examples of contemporary underground music, keeping up with their more experimental and harder side. Title track Cloudy kicks off with an atmospheric intro and flows heavy on low frequencies. Its obsessively acidic and brooding synth line veers into subliminal territory thanks to its upwards spiraling and frequency shiftings crawling through the whole composition. Second cut Utopia is a long journey into a dark tunnel, with quirky percussion patterns and spooky samples that welcome an unrelenting and tough melody during the break, spanning the entire stereo panorama and slinking all over the place.

Many Reasons return to their own Amazing Records with 3 brand new tracks. After their release on Octopus Recordings, the guys deliver more of their trademark sounds with “Konnekt”’s atmospheric intro, twinkling bleeps and percs and vocal snippets. “The 5th Time”’s claps and big stabs lead onto a shimmering synth melody in the break, all surrounded by evocative space-age pads. Closing number “Qube”’s snare madness and pumping bass line are matched by a haze of crazy chords after the drop.

Many Reasons’ recent hit Pandora (released on their own Amazing Records) gets the special remix treatment by some of the label’s cohorts. Zakari & Blange add some extra punch to the original, with a blast of eerie atmospheric synthesizers on top and percussions to keep the rhythm flowing. The NHB guys step it up a notch: their rework’s massive kick drum and in- your-face wall of sound push things to the limit, creating a new beast that will wreak havoc with a lot of dance floors all over the place.

We welcome back Italian techno team and longtime members of the SCI+TEC family, MiniCoolBoyz, for their third release on the label. Once described as the prodigies of m-nus main-man Richie Hawtin and as "future stars of electronic music" by our very own Dubfire, the boys have come a long way since their first release with the label back  in 2010.

 

Mike and Raphael's exciting blend of minimal groove-laden techno and tech house continues to impress and has soundtracked one of their most successful years to date. With a seam-busting tour diary that has seen them grace many of the summers biggest festivals, a catalogue of 2012 releases for the likes of Saved, Material and Terminal M, plus the ongoing success of their very own Amazing Records imprint, life really couldn't be better for the Italian duo. Now, after their blistering summer, MiniCoolBoyz kick off their winter season and ask, "Whats Going On?".

 

Their vinyl cuts "What's Popping?" and "What's Going On" have been described by the boys themselves, perfectly we might add, as "minimal, weird, dark and trippy… with added energy bombs!". If the wax doesn't suit, fear not, both cuts also feature on the digital package backed by another brace of electronic questions in the form of , "What's Wrong?" and "What's Up?". More questions than a toddler on Ritalin. To discover the answers, well, just play them out…

Coloured sounds, eclectic vocation, international
profile : this is Stefano Fontana in a few words.
Grown-up in Milan at the Plastic Club – main club
of the Italian artistic circuit – Stefano has always
had a real obsession for that imaginary street half
way between turntablism, funky B-lines, hip hop,
dance old school and all the plastic world correlated.
Grown with bread and groove, Stefano Fontana
blends the scenes of Chicago, New York and
Detroit, electro,hip hop, house and techno, re-interpreting
them for far away: he takes part to the DMC freestyle
championship, rear’s up with his BMX, he risk’s his
life with trick’s on his skateboard, but especially he
draws totally from guru’s like Basement Jaxx,
Underworld, Chemical Brothers without naming
generals of hip hop like Public Enemy, Ludacris,
Timbaland and Neptunes.
In a few years, he becomes one of the Italian most
hot producers and his first long distance fatigue
named Stylophonic is published internationally by
Emi: the album Man Music Technology is a
crossover of hip hop, breaks and house, absolutely
so international that it seems an alien for the national
reality.
The single extracts arrive in all the European charts,
the album sees important featuring and remixes (see Digital
Underground, Della Reese,Kevin Saunderson, Chicken Lips,
King Britt,radioslave,etcc) and the name of Stefano
approaches the guru’s of dance, so much to be renamed
the " Italian Fatboy Slim " for the same
versatility and same kaleidoscope of sounds.
Then, between remixes for Planet Funk, Dino Lenny
and Crookers, Stefano dips into the production
of the album for Lorenzo aka Jovanotti(the most important italian hip hop artist,well connected with the beastie boys): needless
to say that “Buon Sangue” becomes a whirlpool of
groove with a stylophonic touch, like proved with
the crushing single “Tanto3”.
Stefano Fontana becomes on of the most
demanded names in the international clubbing
circuit: besides the Italian major clubs, Stefano
does and undoes the suitcases for sets all round
Europe, from England to Ibiza, from Mykonos to
France, without forgetting the residence
Magazzini Generali of Milano, the base in which
experimenting new colours to dancefloor.
At the same time, Nostro reinforces also his activity
of music designer for various brands such us Adidas,
MTV, Coca Cola, Dolce&Gabbana (with the incredible collaboration with Hype williams), Diesel creating
soundtracks for fashion shows and taking part to
various Italian tours.
In such an intensive period, Stefano Fontanta is
able to set the basis for the new album Stylophonic:
Beatbox Show, of the previous year , is launched
by the single Baby Beatbox (remixed by crookers)– chosen for the
European D&G campaign, as well as included in
various compilations – and is a further step forward
in shakedelia of electro, dance and funk.
Produced by stefano himself and mixed by the sound engineer of Leftfield, Beatbox
Show is the growth to the stylophonic sound: a
futuristic soundtrack for dancing as much us for
listening, variegated like the next singles extracted,
that Pure Imagination that is a thud on radio and
charts, or Dancefloor, once more connected to an
advert for D&G again with the great director hype williams.

After a such intense 2006 and 2007, 2008 seems even more
challenging : Stefano in fact is responsible for a music of a new D&G campaign always with Hype williams ,with the track called" RU experienced?"

but at the meantime he was very satisfied when remixing the
French ace Martin Solveig, he discovered the talented Crookers (for which he
is responsible of their first production and discographic
moves) and he has been chosen by Nike – with
people like LCD Soundsytem, A-trak ,Aesop Rock and Tomboy
for the new project Nike Plus.
