As we were recording the original version the system locked up and ate most of our data...  So we did what anyone else would naturally do...  Rewrote the song from the ground up.

One of our first songs, we have been quietly developing this track since December. In the spirit of recording alternate demos before recording songs properly, we spent a rainy day recording this version with acoustic and electric guitars, ukelele, toy piano, toy melodica, and whatever we could bang on.

The Nimbus - The Giants (sxdemo)

The Nimbus is an electronic band from Austin, Texas; formed in late 2011 by Ritch Napierkowski and Martin McCreadie. Having spent the previous two and a half years working together on other projects, including subNatural which had placed five straight years in the Austin Chronicle Music Poll, the two began performing cacophonous pop songs tailored for cloudy days.
 
With musical influences spanning alternative and indie rock, trip hop, dub, industrial, jazz, blues, and more, they use haunting melodies, lush atmospheres and mangled electronics to envelop the listener. Mixed with a love of eclectic instrumentation and effects, the result is glitched electropop as foreign as it is familiar.

In 2013, The Nimbus played Synth By Southwest IV with Fielded and Feathers, Convergence XIX with Bloody Knives, and opened for oOoOO. The duo has expanded to include drummer/instrumentalist, Gabriel Barrientes, of CTRL and Rescue Mission. They are currently planning their first release which is scheduled for February 2014.
