This composition titled "safety mantra" was produced for artist and friend, Silas, in consideration of their dance piece. The track was inspired by Djrum's "DAM-coda" and explores themes of ritual and nostalgia. Broken phrases were taken from spoken word poetry by Silas and programmed in a repetitive fashion. The use of re-pitching of these vocals evokes a sense of youthfulness, which reminds us of a time which is playful and freeing. The chopped up chanting of children singing mantra's is comforting and warm - combined with deep hits of sub bass and organic sounding beats.
