This set ended up being one of my favourites that I've ever done!

I've always been a multigenre DJ but never had the confidence to mix such a wide range out live before (mixing "happy" trance and house alongside really bassy stuff). Luckily, the risk paid off :--)

I unfortunately didn't record it live, but I felt compelled to go back through my USB histories the next morning and record the selection at home.

Keeping our focus on the North of England, originally from the Wirral, Manchester based Maracuya can be found slamming out high energy heaters at venues like Hamburg’s Golden Pudel, but also operating as part of DJ Collective, Not Bad for a Girl. Showcasing forward-thinking talent such as Hibotep, Nihiloxica, Sonia Calico and Acid Arab, as part of her monthly show, Maracuya Soundsystem, on well-known Reform Radio, as well as a residency on Subtle Radio, she’s certainly one to keep an eye on.

With the opening full of psychedelic breaks and spacey techno, expect to feel that injection of energy as soon as you hit the play button. Don’t be fooled at half time by the half tempo bass - it’s just a chance to prepare for the ramp up to rapid breaks and classic jungle, before finishing on Maracuya’s signature global bangers. Featuring tracks from Mystique, Paranorman and Mani Festo, if the doom and gloom of our terrible trio is getting you down, this will certainly serve as a pick-me-up for the weekend. - @maracuyadj
