Our next chapter is steered by Nasser Alazzawi. Hailing from the riverside of Newcastle upon Tyne, U.K., Nasser moved to Limassol, Cyprus. Taking stock of the island’s mood, he produced this podcast by the pool with music that tells a story of an awakening into hope, delving into uncertainty before remembering that, no matter what happens, everything is fine if we let it be. 

He says that, whilst made with love, this was one of his more challenging podcasts to bring forward - he does not get to express himself like this so often at real events. The result is a wave of emotion arriving on an open, friendly and familiar groovy note where hip wiggling is completely acceptable!

On the eve of the Spring equinox, Hekske (the little witch) and Falke (the 9-year old witch apprentice) kissed good night to Lalita, the nymph who is the protectress of the little oak tree.  This young tree is only 3 feet high, but is destined to live for 1000 years and become the future mother tree of the witch’s forest.  Actually, the March equinox is a very special moment for the nymph, as she arrived exactly 2 years ago in the witch’s forest in Flanders, after an epic 2-year walk all the way from the far end of the Malayan peninsula in South-East Asia.  So, after her evening yoga session, the nymph didn’t go to sleep as she had other plans.  She gently woke up the family of badgers (who live in an elaborate network of tunnels around the little oak tree) and they got to work.  Lalita had collected immaculately white sand and pitch-black charcoal and asked the badgers to draw patterns around the little tree with these 2 materials.  The animals couldn’t see what they were drawing in the dark night, so they drew all kinds of mystic symbols by simply following their instinct.  They worked frenetically all night long and it was only in the first morning light that they finally could see what they had been drawing all the time.  Magically, the white sand and the charcoal had arranged itself in mesmerizing geometrical pattens, like circles, triangles and octagons.  Exactly at that moment Hekske and Falke arrived at the scene and they were awestruck by this beautiful and elaborate black & white figure.  Lalita explained that this is a yantra, a magical maze of geometrical patterns with many hidden layers, and with the little oak tree right in the middle… the holy ‘bindu’ point.  The girls held a morning yoga session around the yantra and after that, Hekske and Lalita walked barefoot over the yantra until they could touch each other, with the tiny oak in between them.  They looked each other in the eyes … the bright green eyes of the little European witch locking with the intense black eyes of the Asian nymph.  After a few minutes, they raised their right hands and laid it on the chest of the other woman… the milk white skin of the witch touching the golden brown skin of the nymph, feeling their mutual heartbeats.  All the animals and birds who came to watch this ceremony, held their breath.  Then the girls started to move around in circles around the little tree.  First it was just a slow shuffle, but gradually they reached a state of ecstasy and whirled like dervishes around the future mother tree in increasingly fast circles.  Finally, they spun out of control and fell down.  After the dust had settled, they saw that the black charcoal and white sand had arranged itself into a new circular pattern… yin yang …

Tarun Jakhodia ist ein ambitionierter Downtempo-Künstler, der von geschmeidigem Deep House, hypnotischen Deep Grooves und soliden Kicks angetrieben wird. In seiner Musik finden sich ebenfalls indische, arabische und viele weitere orientalische Einflüsse. Mit Kosa Records erschuf Kośa sein eigenes Label und im Januar diesen Jahres erschien die erste "Various Artists Compilation" namens Mīmāṃsā.

trndmsk: What inspired you to produce the EP?

Meric: The unique multi-cultural character of Anatolia is inspiring many musicians. For a while, I am trying to make the re-interpretations of previously composed folk songs with an updated musical infrastructure; and making out new version to be played in the dance fields. The samples I used for the song „Hemshin“ was inspired from the experienced musical figure Nezih Ünen’s legendary documentary “Lost Songs of Anatolia”. The documentary mentions the musical range of Turkey. I wanted to put front, to the dance floors, a Deep House version of a very less known Anatolian folk song. (...)

Fast forward 5 years later to Garbicz festival and somehow we meet Sarïta on the very last day, realizing she had been tenting next to us the whole time! As soon as we all jived into one unit, we knew she was the essence we had been waiting for to finish what we had started. One day after the festival finishes, we run to our studio in Holzmarkt Berlin and the rest is history.

Volen Sentir is the fusion of two genius producers also known as Dave Pad and Poison Pro.
The sound of Volen Sentir has already had an impact on the underground with releases like the popular "Vdol Po Rechenke" on Shanti Moscow Radio in 2017 and "Arrival", released on All Day I Dream's 2018 Summer Sampler.
