Papaya Playa Project Tulum 145: Brisa cálida

	𝗞 𝗽𝗮𝗿 𝗞 (𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸) is the soundtrack to 𝗖𝗶𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲's contemporary circus show of the same name. Composed throughout the creation process on stage from 2020 to 2022, the soundtrack is perfectly synchronized with the acrobats' movements on stage, and forms an integral part of the artistic proposition.

	Delving into the theme of migration with gravity, this album offers a glimpse into the complexity of the issue. Between distress, violence, survival, hope and joyful memories, a wide range of emotions runs through these 8 tracks. 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮's poem opens the album, read by project collaborator 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗮𝘁. This is followed by excerpts from the rescues of 𝗦𝗢𝗦 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗲's Ocean Viking, whose stories were a great source of inspiration. Then begins an intense auditory journey, a crossing through the words of migrants, sea rescuers, politicians, writers... all wrapped up in intense, melodic, sometimes minimalist but resolutely powerful music.

	𝗖𝗶𝗲 𝗦𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲's show 𝗞 𝗽𝗮𝗿 𝗞 is a cry of solidarity, a call for dialogue, opening the way to reflection on this dehumanization, and this original album is one of its voices.

With the album shaping up to be both an inspired journey for the mind and a propelling trip for the body (and soul), this delivers on all fronts, presenting the mystical and enchanting leanings of the producer/DJ duo as well as the obvious urge to work the dance floor. Remixer PATRICE BÄUMEL has no trouble connecting to this mindset, as he has proven time and time again - check his highly immersive and definition of techno on SPEICHER 81 and SPEICHER 85. Bäumel's strong and club-ready revamp of ENDLESS GAMES comes in two flavours: the vocal version geared for prime time destruction and a sweet dub version for the aftermath.

A place far away from everything, yet right around the corner. A vision close enough to touch, yet so far away. Surrounded by keys, hatches, pots and small fragmented parts, Marbert Rocel lie down, discuss and dance through the winter of 2015. In this environment, in their studio in Leipzig, the band ties together the songs, which first saw the light of day in a small spot enclosed by woods in the summer of 2014.  Each decision goes through every head, each chord is listened to a hundred times, from font to back and in reverse, each compromise: a triumph for the common cause. Not pompoous string arrangements fuel this album with grandeur, but rather the notion of a consensual nod, which has evolved within Marbert Rocel over the years.  “In the Beginning” is the fourth album by Marbert Rocel, a living utopia and a tart kiss for every purist genre lover. Nothing is hewn raw on here, rather sculptured delicately. Percussion is tickling from synth pads like dew, and the songs welcome you like good friends. Like Tinkerbell, Spunks voice guides through this strange familiar world, moving past big feelings and small gestures, to finally lead to where it all started: “In The Beginning”.
