I have revisited my first ever production that launched my production career.  I have been playing it at gigs since early this year with big and humbling reaction.  Happy to share this now and say THANK YOU for the many years of support from long time listeners and to the newer ones too.

The first track of mine to reach commercial release, "...For All The People" circa 1994-ish.  I met my Fade partner Neil Kolo in 1993, even though i had seen him roaming the dancefloor at AAHZ (and surfing local breaks)during the years before, we never met.  Our connection was instant and we started pursuing our passion in bedroom studio.  We had made a handful of tracks before this, but this is the one that caught attention and made more traction then before.  It wasn't until Icey heard me play it out at gig that we knew we had something above the norm.  He encouraged us to press it to vinyl....  

FADE was formed in the summer of 1993 when Neil Kolo, a young studio engineer, introduced himself to Chris Fortier, a young resident DJ at the now infamous "Marz" club in Cocoa Beach, FL, and passed on a tape of some of the material he had been working on. Chris, very enthused by what he had heard, expressed his interest in the idea of working together and learning about how to produce tracks of his own like the ones he had been playing up and down the East Coast of America.

Earlier this year, I revisited my first ever production that launched my production career as Fade with Neil Kolo.  It was a more modern reboot to the original and fitting for the current age of dance floors.  However, I did have one more idea for transforming "...For All The People" into something very different, but still of a vibe that was an inspirational sound to me starting out.  This new remix version is inspired by many nights at AAHZ in Orlando circa ‘90 and '91.  These golden years were smack in the middle of the club's heyday and inspired not only myself, but a generation.  There were many great songs that became synonymous with AAHZ and the two DJs that were our leaders.  Tempo of songs was a wide range with some of the all time classics of the club maxing out at 100BPM and less.  

This interpretation is inspired by those vibes; those intents; those enlightened moments at AAHZ.  Breaking from the high energy moves; those hands in the air power pianos to slow things way down to the eyes closed shut, feel the groove magic.

Just as the chill of the northern hemisphere winter 2016 sets in, John Debo’s Mindwarp imprint awakens after a near 18 month hibernation with a bear of a release from Josh Dupont & Dan Snow aka Extended Play. Not to name drop, but their work has already featured on labels such as Bedrock, Crosstown Rebels, Fade & Prisoner of Love. Quite an impressive feat for a couple of boys from Houston, Texas.
 
The title cut, ‘Sounds Like Glitter’, opens with a powerful bass groove, slowly evolving with soft, percussive melodies to a killer breakdown where Dan’s classical and jazz musical training shines through with his intricately interwoven guitar riffs & melodies. Not straying from the musicality of the original for a moment, Mindwarp bossman John Debo goes full steam ahead delivering both a remix and heavier dub version, already garnering early support from John Digweed on his globally syndicated Transitions radio show.
 
Rounding out the package, ‘Sunset Strip’ picks up where ‘Sounds Like Glitter’ leaves off. More interwoven melodies, big percussion, and attention to detail translate into another deep, meandering affair comfortably at home on any of the world’s underground music stages, regardless of how large or small.

Phonic Scoupe, are a rising melodic techno DJ/Producer duo from Lithuania, and their FADE debut ‘Harvest Dance’ originally appeared as part of the 3-track ‘Baltics EP’ (FD135) back in May 2015.
 
This choice original cut was heavily supported by Hernan, who played it throughout WMC 2015 and beyond. Now, two years on Hernan has joined forces with his Sudbeat label sidekick, Graziano Raffa to create a fresh interpretation that is set to fly.
