This is a Japanese reworking of Michael Nyman's song "Heart Asks Pleasure First", whose original version was used as part of the soundtrack to the film, The Piano. The song was rewritten using the Hirajoshi Scale in F with the addition of suitable Oriental percussion and harmony.

This classical reworking is of Kylie Minogue's hit "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" and was created as part of my studies at college. This piece has nice use of dynamics and truly transforms a pop hit into something more Radio 2! ;-)

Can't Get You Out Of My Orchestra

This song was inspired the some of the leading minimalist composers, such as Philip Glass, Steve Reich and Arvo Part, but was mainly inspired by a piece of music called “In C” by Terry Riley. In this piece, Riley created 53 melodies or patterns in the key of C. The object of the piece is for all the performers to start on the first motif and they can then choose when they move onto the next motif. 

Using this idea. I created 20 different musical patterns or motifs using MIDI, all in the same key. Some of these were only 2 bars long; others got up to 9 bars in length. As I didn’t have a small orchestra on hand to perform my piece, I programmed each melody into Cubase and used a VST instrument called Orchestral by Edirol. However, I needed to decide on an order for my patterns. To do this in a random way, I decided to write numbers 1 to 20 on pieces of paper and get my friends to draw them out of a bag to decide on the order the patterns would be played. Then, to decide on the number of times each motif would be played, I got my friends to roll a dice once for each pattern and noted this down.

•	Extensive knowledge of professional audio hardware such as Clavia Nord Modular & Nord G2, Roland R8, Yamaha SY85, etc. Within this
        knowledge is a full ability to connect these modules via MIDI.
•	Broad knowledge of other outboard audio equipment such as mixers, controller keyboards, effects unit, microphones, etc.
•	Plays various musical instruments such as electric guitar, classical guitar, bass guitar, drums, keyboards and piano.
•	Excellent compositional skills within a variety of different genres such as electronica, rock, classical, pop, jazz, etc.
•	Excellent audio production skills, such as track recording, mixing and mastering.
•	Good abilities in creating audio soundtracks for moving images and video.
•	In depth experience with video, 3d modelling and imaging software such as Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks, Sony Vegas & 3DS
        Studio Max.
