With far too many chin strokers and music elitists around, we need people like Kristy Harper who choose to bring a sense of fun and sparkle to their musical pursuits instead. 

An advocate for female empowerment and body positivity, she translates these messages into both her productions and DJ sets. So far her releases have come via Let’s Play House and Monologues Records, followed by her acclaimed ‘My Body, My Future’ track, which samples Samirah Raheem’s viral interview at the LA ‘Slut Walk’. 

As a DJ, both behind the decks or on the Netil Radio airwaves where she holds a residency, she’s guided by a pure and unadulterated love of disco, Italo and classic house; sonics that filter into much of her musical output.

That goes for today’s mix too, which revs through a cocktail of synth-driven rhythms and bright acid-laced cuts, and follows Kristy’s fuego remix for our latest R$N Records release from Bawrut and Chico Blanco, which you should listen to stat!

Funnuvojere Records turned 2 years old this past January - but, due to the current situation, we could not organise a proper party at a real club. And so we are very happy to have been given the chance to take over Radio 80000 this Saturday, to share some moments of ecstasy with you.

Russell started DJing back in 1988-1989. Along with a group of friends he promoted his first parties "Moonstomp", favouring the underground sound of New Beat and the EBM coming out of Belgium, Holland and the UK.

Since then he has promoted and played at various gigs including his first main London events, United Frequencies of Dance in the early 90's alongside DJs such as Andrew Weatherall, David Holmes, Fabio Paras and Leftfield's Paul Daley

Early 2014 saw the birth of our his Música Noche project, an open minded genre-busting club night in East London with guests including Khidja, Vactrol Park, Craig Bratley, Richard Sen, Daniele Baldelli, Ruf Dug, Coyote, Nancy Noise, Phil Mison, Tim Paris, Scott Fraser, Field Of Dreams, Kyle Martin, Jaye Ward and many more.

More recently Russell has gravitated to ‘kindred spirits’ Kirsty Pemberton and Marc Hasler to form P.I.D.R (Passion In Dark Rooms) - Ultimately a DJ collective but with parties to boot!

Their nights have seen guest appearances from Phil Banks (Forgotten Corner), Ali Renault (Vivod Records), Nathan Gregory Wilkins and live performances from Stash Magnetic and agin, the brilliant Vactrol Park (Kyle Martin & Guido Zen)

Although 2021 may be a slow starter - Russell, PIDR and Musica Noche are hoping to plan some exciting things for the year to come both in the UK and abroad
