Black Honey

This is one of my favourite tracks from an EP entitled 'Bigger Teeth', which I recorded/produced for the band Birdeatsbaby. Here's a short review;

Self-confessed avoiders of musical trends that come in and out with the tides, the ‘Birds instead take a decidedly theatrical route, with lush string orchestration forming the painted scenery backdrop to the narrative performance pieces that make up this EP. Production by 80s Matchbox’s Marc R Norris lends the set an inherent darkness – eerily effective as it deliciously taints the initially apparent sweetness of the songs. We haven’t seen them live but we can imagine the gigs being a blast.

The Devil So Charming by Birdeatsbaby

This is a piece I composed in Logic for the soundtrack for the Facebook game 'Little Horrors'. It is intended to be dark yet playful.

Little Horrors Windmill

I composed this track whilst in The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster for our debut album Horse of the Dog, produced by Paul Tipler, which was released on No Death/Island Universal Records in 2003. It was the third single from the album, reaching number 26 in the charts. The track also featured on the soundtrack for the video game Gran Turismo 4.

Lee Stripe - Big Ben

I am a Berlin based composer, musician, sound engineer and producer. I formally composed music and played guitar for UK Psychosis Rock band The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster. Now I produce both live and studio based recordings for bands and individual artists and I also compose music and create sound design for use in moving picture such as film, TV and computer games. I like to work with a range of styles and genres, although I am always in favour of the authentic, original, unusual and perhaps eccentric variety of artist and performer. I naturally create work that draws on the bizarre and unconventional, yet maintains popular appeal.
I am currently working on a number of exciting projects, although I am always open to new proposals, so get in touch!
