Third year in a row bringing in the new day during the 4th of July festivities, and I still cannot believe how epic it keeps getting year after year during the closing of the CAMP festival. This year we came fully prepared with an array of live singers and musicians for my set. Kicking it off with Tory Stolper and myself performing our track Surya Rising live, to having our sunrise electronic dance music sermon delivered by the talented writer and poet Lauren Ducrey, and flanked by the A-Team with Noah & Mendeleyev.

3.5 hrs flew by, and as we still had to Burn the majestic Sloth effigy built by the talented Jacob, I decided to keep the closing sunrise affair measured under 5 hrs... LOL. (Maybe next year we will push a little longer into the daytime vibes...)

Thankful to Brad, Gil, Sarah, Therapy Sound and all of the people who tirelessly set up this magical fairy forest stage for us to weave musical magic. 

This was one of the most meaningful morning for me, thank you for coming along for the ride. From darkness to light and all of the ephemeral magic that exists in-between. <3

I was given the honor of playing for @opulentchillmusic at 5pm on burn night (Saturday) at this year's Burning Man. I contemplated leaving the event when driving a friend to Reno on the Thursday before but had spent more than a month collecting and cultivating some music and returned to BRC beyond excited to play... until the weather took a turn for the worst and forced me to miss my set while sheltering in place (you may have seen the news).

A friend and I spent more than eight hours exiting the city (the time it took to reach actual road/pavement) yesterday, and I'm beyond grateful to be home. I wanted to record a mix while my feelings about the past few days and our shared experiences (trauma bonding?) were still fresh. I hope you enjoy!

Thank you so much to Opulent Chill for the opportunity to play and to the amazing friends who took me in when it was clear that my tent situation was not going to work with the incoming weather. This party continues to be one of my favorite nights of the burn!  Whomp Wagon plugged in again outside and pumped thumping beats to the entire 2 o’clock side.  The vibe inside Deoxidized was full of love, excitement, and connection.  It was an honor to be a part of this rocking kickoff to yet another stellar week.  The playa provides so much magic and opportunities for personal growth.  Some of my personal take home lessons are being grateful for what you get, not what you want.  In addition, the concept of wise effort.  These are two reoccurring themes in my last two burns.  I will be working on these as I prepare for next year.  I hope these tracks get your feet dancing, your booty shaking, and your faces smiling 💜🔥💜

Friday in the Tea House at KISS was magic. The rain and mud forced us to slow down and just BE with each other as we weathered the storm. It created a full range of experiences in our little tea tent. The intimacy and connection it invited created one of my favorite experiences in 15 years of Burning Man... it was an honor to create a soundscape.

Here's the set I did at the closing day of Afrikaburn 2017 on Sunday morning. The week was already perfect but I couldn't finish it in a better way than sharing this moment with all the ones in front of me. What an incredible experience... I hope it's gonna remind some of the people present this magical moment. And for the others that you can imagine the journey it was at the end of this dusty week drinking bubbles during the morning. Thanks for all the smiles and lovely souls I met before, during and after this set :D

Rogue Fire - Afrika Burn 2017 @ Bubbles & Bass, Sunday Morning ( Deep House Set )

Even though I recorded this mix in my small New Zealand quarantine hotel room, ‘the lagoon’ is a very real place. Last time this year, a small group of friends and I threw a secret bonfire moonrise party at this undisclosed location and I played a set there. This year I can sadly not be there, but I recorded a set with the event in mind. The result is over two and a half hours of eclectic psychedelic sounds. Channel your own inner lagoon the way I did over the past two days putting this set together.
