I listened to so much music in 2022 compared to other years that creating a one-hour review has not been possible. Thanks to this extended playlist, I have been able to select tracks with such different moods, from the waving house baselines to the wide atmospheric progressive pads. Some included tracks were released before 2022; however, it was during this year that I discovered them. @alexorion and @matter  stand out again from this year's Deep Progressive House scene, while many new tracks from Argentina are getting my attention, especially @simonvuarambon and @ezequiel_arias.

"It's almost that time of the year again: October, which means another edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is around the corner. And of course Chrom is more than ready for it with our annual ADE Sampler ànd a 2-days label showcase on Friday ànd Saturday!

On our ADE2023 release called "Amsterdam 2023" we present 10 brand-new exclusive tracks, covering the full spectrum from Progressive House and Indie Dance to Melodic House & Techno. Of course we have many Chrom core members on board for this important release: our own label manager Pedro Mercado, Fernando Lagreca, AMARE, Qarrassa, and Yves Eaux teaming up with Nick Vale. Plus some familiar faces: Daniel Vilchez, and Filip Fisher teaming up with JO:LE. Over the past two years, including 2023, I've set another personal record for the number of amazing tracks I've listened to. Distilling this extensive tracklist hasn't been easy; it is a compilation that works as a diary of the tracks that have resonated with me most profoundly, reflecting my deep, personal connection to each of them. 

As with previous editions, some of the tracks included were not released in 2023 but became relevant to me during this year. For instance, South Bloom's "Let Me In" and Mike Rish's "Reka" have been favourites since their release, and experiencing them live during 29th Sep Guy J's set at Night Tales, London earned their right place in this set. Similarly, with Marway's "Hypnos", while I had already featured the Eric Lune Remix on my https://soundcloud.com/undergroundcolombo/marcal-prats-underground-colombo-master-1 podcast, it was through the masterpiece set https://soundcloud.com/balance-series/balance-selections-245-ricky-ryan that I rediscovered the brilliance of the Original Mix. Ethereal Ecstasy is the latest offering from Jack Lazarus on his own imprint, Into The Myst, a three-track progressive house trip that leans deep into cosmic textures and club-driven energy.
The EP opens with its title track, Ethereal Ecstasy, built around a rolling bassline, a sharp plucky lead, and a groovy, forward-pushing beat. It’s bright, rhythmic, and tailor-made for lifting a dance floor into motion.
Astropulse follows with pure kinetic momentum. A looping, driving progression propels the track forward, capturing the sensation of blasting through space at lightspeed. Its evolving structure and hypnotic energy make it a standout peak-time tool.
Closing the EP is Fractal Motion, the most melodic cut of the three, while still anchored in a steady progressive groove. A huge plucky synth takes over in the breakdown and returns for a soaring finale, delivering both emotion and dance-floor power.

Marçal Prats is a newcomer Dj and producer. Originally from Barcelona, he is based in London following his endless aim for achieving new creative challenges. In addition to his productions and mixes, he is an established graphic designer.

On 14th July 2023, Marçal releases on Sutil Records (@sutilrecords-sutilvox) his latest production, 'Fascinated' paying homage to the iconic 1987 freestyle disco hit by 'Company B', Marçal has infused "Fascinated" with a modern twist, delivering a captivating dance anthem that will transport you to the golden era of dance music. Ten years before, in 2002, Marçal Prats released in Barcelona his first Tech-house remix for London singer and actress Linda John-Pierre's song 'Night People'. 

Marçal started his interest in electronic music in the 80s, fascinated by High-Energy, Italo-Dance, and its hypnotic arpeggiated baselines. He was soon seduced by the birth of House Music and the crunchy 303 analogue sounds of Acid-House. In the mid-90s, during his first visit to London, he was again seduced by Drum&Bass, Big Beat, and IDM.  In 1995, he won his first remix contest. In the first half of the 2000s, Deep Progressive House became his favourite electronic choice. Marçal continues combining his role as a designer with his devotion to music. As he works on new productions, he has released a series of DJ mixes where he brings together the tracks that have influenced him since the turn of the century.
