Based on a Shostakovich melody, I recorded this tune with Betty MacDonald, Eric Parker, and Michael Esposito.  Then Garth Hudson came walking though the woods around 2 in the morning to add his accordion.  Lyrics by Bob Lavaggi.  Haunting...

This piece reminded me of alto saxophonist Lee Konitz,currently calling it Leeward.  I met Lee and got to play/record with him in 1979 while on tour with Karl Berger and the Woodstock Workshop Orchestra . There are 2 LP's from that tour including Lee and many others.

Marc plays a finger style blues in the traditions of Mississippi Hurt and the great Tim Hardin.  A proud road warrior, he was inducted into the New York Chapter of the Blues Hall of Fame in June of 2014.  Marc has performed and recorded with Art Garfunkel, Taj Mahal, Richie Havens, Rick Danko and Garth Hudson to name a few.  He was recently named Folk Artist of the Year on ABC Radio, a winner at the Kerrville Folk Festival and he was chosen to perform with Pete Seeger at the Folk Music Hall of Fame fundraiser last November.  His song, No Fracking Way, recorded with John Sebastian, Eric Weissberg and a hundred Woodstock, NY citizens, has become a worldwide anthem for the movement.  Marc’s Pictures of the Highway CD has reached #6 on the Fold DJ Chart while his youtube videos have taken off.  One has now been viewed more than 50,000 times!. In the words of folk legend, Happy Traum, “Marc is a master at spreading the joy of music.”
