At the end of February, a huge number of people woke up with a persistent feeling of inability to influence anything in the global situation.
In this new world, where the fluid notion of "peace" is chained in quotation marks, goals and hopes begin to fade imperceptibly. The sense of security in modern society begins to lose its original meaning. Tomorrow is associated with complexity.

For several days in the spring of 2022, almost all russian music labels, including us, have already encountered difficulties in the basic technical part of their activities - restrictions on PayPal, problems with payments for accounts and advertising companies, difficulties with distribution on major music streaming platforms. In sum, all this can greatly affect our prospects for new releases, may negatively affect our goals and development plans for the entire Welofi community.

However, we are trying not to lose heart and were obliged to complete the preparation of our peaceful oriented compilation "Post Pandemic VA". We have been prepearing this release for the past three months. As a result, 30 musicians from ten countries of the world: France, Ukraine, Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Argentina, Mexico, Lithuania, Australia, Canada.

This compilation does not adhere to rigid stylistic restrictions. Tracks from contemporary outsider house to acid club bangers, from measured electro vibes to angry ghetto house sounding.

We planned to release "Post Pandemic VA" on classic audio cassettes, but due to problems both with the cassettes production itself and with payment for international postage, we abandoned this idea. There are many good mates in the world. And Comfortless, who lives in Ukraine, was supposed to help us with mastering. Later we collected and sent him all the tracks in the evening at the end of February, and early in the morning next day a message came: "sorry, I can't finish anything, it's dangerous to stay here." So there was thus another problem for us.
Despite all the difficulties, this compilation turned out to be complete and groovy varied! Thanks for the final mastering to NMNVNDL from ORGAN BOYS CLUB.

But we are don't despair, as long as we have the strength to continue our mission and financial problems do not reach a critical point, Welofi will post peppy releases and help musicians!

XO-5 and Cyberian Relic emerge from the cities of Ivanovo and Nadym with a hot mix of Lo-Fi House and Leftfield Ambient, alongside touches of Disco and Phonk. Forming an understated Rave Sound that works just as easily whilst fucked up and glued to Mario Cart YouTube clips, as it does renegade funk siren that beckons an unseen & unknown Eastern bloc TikTok generation onto their home bassment dancefloors.

From the distorted thump, windy pads, squelchy TB-303, and muffled vocal of the EP’s joint artist opener “Loveless”, to overdriven bells, trap house chug, and drilling bassline of Cyberian Relic solo effort “Fading”, with its introspective lead line reminiscent of Closer Musik’s seminal 2002 cut “Maria” - fyi a compliment of the highest order (in this humble writers opinion anyway!) Back to the artist combo and 135BPM clanging onslaught of “Night Caprise” - a thrilling crank of full frontal house (albeit on the harder edge) with rubbery bassline and looping disco vocal giving way to massive breakbeat breakdowns and sure to have skulls moving out of their usual back of the crowd nodding orbits into hearty headbang territory. EP ender “I Was Never Around” finds XO-5 on their own rounding out the selection in grand fashion: all big chords and big emotions. A percussive belting. Tweaked out vocals, and white noise house beats. Wherever the geo-political landscape of where one resides, we love to discover artists pushing their personal boundaries, upping each others ante’s and creating techno magic from locations often overlooked and undercooked in our New World Order. In a time and space that has replaced all reality and meaning with symbols and signs, and where human experience is a simulation of reality, we are thrilled to receive these coded transmissions coming deep from the underground of the simulacrum. Making music that is far from loveless.
