When you're talking about techno, few names have been innovating and evolving as much as Robert Hood. When he's not running things over at M-Plant, he can be found touring the festival circuit with his live show and releasing tonnes of fresh new material.

Today we concentrate on his more melodic alias and under the name Floorplan, Hood has released a stunning album showcasing a slightly different yet equally strong sound.

A new EP is set to drop featuring two re-edits of tracks that appeared on his Floorplan album 'Paradise'. 'Phobia' and 'Never Grow Old' have been given a special Re-Plant and we have the premiere of the latter.

An exciting new year for electronic music swiftly kicks into gear as John Digweeds Bedrock label unveils the highly creative new Buraki project.

Opening with the pulsating passion of Silk, Buraki teases out a joyously delightful melodic mantra, bursting with heartfelt emotion. Its this perfect symmetry that cements the EPs style here, as Cordoba (Into The Light Mix) broods and soars with energetic abandon, spiralling blissfully towards the heavens. Then, in perfect artistic juxtaposition, Cordoba (Into The Dark Mix) engages in a finale of hypnotic shadow play, masterfully bringing this highly emotive musical experience to a perfect conclusion.

Exclusive Night Giants 'Dissipate (Mike Simonetti Remix)'

Electronic duo Night Giants elegantly bring together various styles with their music and showcase a potpourri of their current approaches on their upcoming 'Hold On Tight' EP. The band's three original tracks, 'Hold On Tight', 'Love Someone' and 'Dissipate', are viewed in a different light as they are endowed with remixes by John Dasilva, Massey and Mike Simonetti. The latter, also known for his project Pale Blue with Liz Wright and his label 2MR, takes on remix duties for 'Dissipate' and delivers a beautiful piece of music that easily outshines everything you've heard lately when it comes to electronic music with a touch of singing. Simonetti's remix starts with muttering chords before introducing Night Giants' vocal for the first time, which adds warmth to the rough and darkly kept instrumental and therefore creates a melancholy. The remix then unfolds its dance floor potential as Simonetti adds more complex and multi tonal synth melodies as well as a clap so his remix work gains even more drive before the vocal gets some space for itself and the listener is introduced to the acid-influenced last part of the track. 

Night Giants' EP 'Hold On Tight' will be released on Sprechen on June 3rd, 2019.

EXCLUSIVE: Night Giants - Dissipate (Mike Simonetti Remix) [Sprechen]

Next up on the Alola classic series, 16B’s ‘Escape (Driving To Heaven) is re-invigorated with 3 remasters for inclusion in the recently launched Alola Classic series. Originally released in 2001 on Hooj Tunes, Escape garnered support from the electronic music elite and featured as the opening track on Deep Dish’s chart topping ‘Global Underground 021: Moscow’ compilation, whilst also being included on Hernan Cattaneo’s seminal Renaissance mix. As the name title suggest, ‘Escape’ captures an uplifting spirit that climbs and climbs, the perfect embodiment of early naughties progressive house. On vocals, Richard Morel narrates the journey and further adds to the uplifiting aesthetic. On remix duties Omid and Francisco Savier provide deep, dark tribal takes on the original whilst Ignas retains more of the original’s euphoric nature. Rounding off the package Maher Daniel’s previously unreleased mix captures a dreamy, chill-out vibe in blissful fashion.
