NSA004 sees the artist moving into expansive electro territory, complete with wubs, rolling percs and sassy machine vox that will have dancefloors cruising into blissful body movements even as it scrambles brains.

You could see it as the signature ‘tough but groovy’ Ben Pest sound, refreshed in style for the more breakbeat inclined. Or maybe you could just call it future funk. Either way, get ready to see some serious shoulder action with this one.

Years after the EPs on Macadam Mambo and Bahnsteig 23, das Dunkeltier is back on wax, this time on the German label Reach Another System aka RAS Records. It comes as no surprise that it's a surprise box drawing from the bottomless pit that is the 80s. And again, these edits are closer stylistically to his dark side project boldly named GOTT than to his more gleeful mainstay alias Sneaker. The sources of these four obscurities are only revealed to the third ear of the knowledgeable digger, but let us give you a hint – gathered are Teutonic Titans, a Bauhaus offshoot and a digital symphony orchestra. Babe Roots、Deadbeat、Elementなど国内外のレフトフィールドなモダン・エレクトロニック・ダブのアーティストをリリースする、Undefined主宰のNewdubhall。第6弾は、ポーランドのデュオ、Jankaをフィーチャーする。

Jankaはダニエル・シュラインダ（Daniel Szlajnda）とピョートル カリンスキ（Piotr Kaliński）からなるユニット。ダニエルは本名名義で、実験的なアンビエント・テクノ、IDM的な作品を、さらにはDaniel Drumz名義ではビート・ミュージックを、どちらの名義もその拠点となるワルシャワのレーベル〈U Know Me Records〉などからアルバム・サイズの作品を複数リリースしている。そしてピョートルも主にHatti Vatti名義でリリースを重ね、ダブをひとつの起点としつつジャングル、アンビエント、ダウンテンポ、ジャズ、IDMなどジャンルを横断的に表現するアーティストと言えるだろう。まさにポーランドの実力派とも言えるこのふたりのユニットだ。Jankaとしては〈U Know Me Records〉を拠点に、2018年にそのお披露目となるシングル「Krzyżacy EP」を、そして2021年にはアルバム『MIDI Life Crisis』をリリースしている。アルバムでは、ジャングル～ジュークとIDMが絶妙に溶け込んだ冒険心に満ちあふれたリズム・デリバリーでオリジナリティ溢れるモダン・エレクトロニック・ダブ・サウンドを奏でている。本場UKとのパイプも太い、同地ポーランドを代表するダブ・レーベル〈Moonshine Recordings〉のコンピ『Dub meets Techno』にも楽曲を提供、またV.I.V.E.K が運営するロンドンのダブステップ名門〈System Music〉からもアルバム・サイズの作品をリリース予定など、今後、さらなるワールドワイドでの活躍が予見されるプロジェクトでもある。

とそんな彼らのNewdubhallからのリリースとなる10インチ「Piesek Dub / Nemurō Dub」。本作はリズムの先鋭的な冒険心と、そしてフィールド・レコーディングやコラージュなどの音響実験という、まさに彼らのサウンドを凝縮した1枚であり、日本へ、そして世界へとその才覚を知らしめる作品と言えるだろう「Piesek Dub」は、ジャングルの亡霊のようなダブ・ジョーンとも言える楽曲で、痙攣するジャングルをダブ・ミックスによって残像へと変化させることによって、ジューク的なグルーヴも想起させるダブ・サウンド、そして「Nemurō Dub」は、電子変調された子供たちの喧噪と相反するようにフリーキーな電子音が展開する、白昼夢へとトリップするヘヴィーなダーク・ダブ・アンビエントとなっている。実はこれまでにダニエルはアルバムに『こもれび』、ピョートルはフリージャズ・アンビエント・プロジェクト、ヒノデ・テープスと名付けるなど、日本になみなみならぬ関心を寄せていることがうかがえる。本作のリリースもJankaからNewdubhallへのデモのアプローチによって実現したものだという。それ故に本作のリリース、そして時を同じくして行われる来日公演は彼らにとって特別なものとなるのではないだろうか。世界的なベテラン・アーティストから、さらにはローカルな俊英も「サウンド」を価値基準に紹介するレーベル、Newdubhallのある種の確固たる姿勢も示す作品でもある。（河村祐介）

For the first album release on Pure Space - and a welcome addition to our Home Listening Series - we are excited to present "At Every Corner" by Mara, a pivotal figure in Eora/Sydney's experimental music community.

Since 2020, the Home Listening series has showcased the introspective and wandering side of the label, featuring releases from Jennifer Loveless, jobfit, and 黑芝麻 (Hēi zhī ma). This series diverges from club constricts, inviting listeners to explore deeper, more contemplative soundscapes.

Throughout "At Every Corner", Mara weaves a rich tapestry of sound, creating captivating composites of audio snippets taken from her travels and performances along the way. The result is a mesmerising long-play that invites the listener into an ever wandering journey.

The album opens with its title track “At Every Corner”. Crafted from recordings taken primarily in Seoul, this track extends to various parts of South Korea. It features voices of new friends, loudspeaker announcements, insects, and fragments of Mara’s performances across the territory to capture and convey both the overstimulation and awe in the world surrounding her.

POLAAR is excited to announce the upcoming release of SNKLS, an artist who is redefining the boundaries of footwork and IDM. A collaborator since the label's inception, SNKLS crafts tracks where fragmented percussion intertwines with IDM and dub influences, drawing inspiration from the techniques of concrete music. His style is marked by a minimalist approach, where each element is pushed to its extreme, adding an introspective dimension to his compositions.

With « ELEMENTS », his new four-track EP, SNKLS makes his most powerful statement. Each piece plunges into a realm of bleep and dub techno, while others explore gong sounds and repetitive motifs, subtly evoking traditional Eastern music and minimalism. Building directly on the foundation laid by his previous EP, **Half Horn**, SNKLS skillfully plays with our mental space, transforming this listening experience into an immersive and obsessive journey that is undeniably modern.

DJ and producer, he aims to build bridges across several genres to constantly creates hybrid music : dark ambient, deep bass and dubstep, psytech, mental techno, all blends together. A profound love for sound-design and Sci-fi atmospheres allows him to always go deeper in his sonic researches, sculpting new ways for both dance and contemplative musical narratives.
