I decided to play really differently for this set. this was the pre-curser for my upcoming daytime outdoor parties in new york and la this summer (from june 12th 2011). the parties are going to be called 'all day i dream' and there's also a forthcoming label of the same name which will be specifically releasing this melodic, melancholic, distant, warm sound. dream on dreamers x

The hypnotic momentum of the night passes to the hands of DJ Three as light begins to fill sky and the new day creeps ever closer.  For forty breathless minutes we wait… until at last the sun breaks over the horizon, and a collage of verbal musings, psychedelia and ornate music fills the air.  Toying with echoes and teasing with nuance, shutters fluttering to capture the fleeting moment…a moment not soon forgotten for those who were lucky enough to be there, at sunrise on Sunday, Black Rock City, Burning Man, 2014.   And then, just as easily as we are led into that place, a whole movement of sound and energy returns the dance floor.

And for that reason we would like to share this set with you all. We have layered  the acoustic audio over the set so you can hopefully feel the energy of the dance floor on that incredible night.

Goldcap (Live) - White Ocean Sunrise - Burning Man 2015

I had the great pleasure of playing the closing DJ set to Summit At Sea 2015. 

More on that in a minute...

Summit At Sea 2015 featured moving and electric performances from bands like St. Lucia, Francis And The Lights and Twin Shadow, legends like Lee Fields, the youthful energy of emerging artists like Raury and Spencer Ludwig of Capital Cities-- who I counted playing with over 5 different acts, collaborating in real time with everyone from the Wailers to Thugfucker. He seemed to be everywhere, making something bespoke and one of a kind for those that happened to be in attendance. 

How was the electronic music though?

Bedouin played in the middle of the ocean surrounded by thunderstorms, with the occasional warm mist in the sultry carribean heat and lightning flashes popping off like strobe lights in the distance. 

A cotton candy sunrise greeted all who stuck around for Thugfucker's 4 hour storied set. The perfect soundtrack as we moved from the dark of night into a cotton candy sunrise bursting with purples, pinks and reds.. pure magic.

The rest of the weekend featured world class sets from Eduardo Castillo, Mira, Sabo, LUM, Goldcap, Timujin, Lumerian and The Scumfrog. We were truly spoiled. 

On the last night, I played for an hour and then cut my set short to try something I have wanted to do for a while, DJ Teamwork. Basically bring together a lot of great dj's to create the party b2b2b....as a team, one track at a time. 

What happened was amazing.

A 2 hour audiophonic journey that spanned soul, r&b, throwback electronica, techno and deep house cuts.

So..............another year of having the honor to play at the incredible White Ocean camp. The energy was truly remarkable all week long and I couldn't imagine a more perfect way to end this year's burn than playing the last set for the final sunrise on Monday morning. Big thanks to everyone who stuck around to share a magical morning together and thanks to the entire White Ocean family for working so hard to create such a memorable week for patrons and artists alike. Goldcap - White Ocean Sunrise - Burning Man 2016

In 2014, i spent my first Burning Man sunrise aboard the legendary Robot Heart bus. To me, it might as well have been Shangri La... 

As i looked outwards to the horizon during the peak of the sunrise in amazement, I glanced over to my good friend and told him that I would not die happily until i had the opportunity to play the Robot Heart bus at Burning Man. 

I'm truly humbled and honored to now have the amazing RH team present you with my set from the Tuesday late night hours. The set begins just as the bus parked itself in deep playa. So i had a special opportunity to welcome everyone who drove, biked, and walked over to the middle of nowhere to experience the nightly musical offerings. 

With that said, I truly hope you enjoy this experience I was grateful to share with the Robot Heart family and the countless people in attendance.

Art: Jar of Sand - Trish Dolman and friends

Jar of Sand is a large-scale (8′ tall x 4′ diameter) canning-style “glass” jar filled with plastic collected from beaches of the Pacific Northwest. By engaging people to clean up our oceans, Jar of Sand intends to create awareness and encourage action. Domestic garbage and pieces of garbage from the Pacific Trash Vortex—the massive island of floating trash—are carried across oceans and wind up on our shores, telling a story of resource extraction, production, and consumption. In this time of climate change and excessive use of fossil fuels, this art installation is a reflection and commentary on our plastic consumption and ultimately unsustainable waste. Participants are welcome to bring plastic that they have collected from the ocean and beaches to the playa and put them in the Jar. The collected plastic will be creatively layered in an over-height custom fabricated jar that will be displayed at Burning Man .

Goldcap - Robot Heart - Burning Man 2016

Two mixes recorded on the Robot Heart sound system at the Burning Man festival. Thursday night 2am is a prime time collage of tracks tailor made for the desert. The last track in this mix “Love Is In The Air” was not actually a part of this live set, but edited onto the mix by popular demand. The sunrise set is from after the burn on Sunday morning. Yes, that one ALSO ends with Love Is In The Air, simply because that is when it was actually played. Excuse the redundancy. -The Scumfrog
