"Chateau Evenings" started as a simple time-lapse filler piece I created during a sweltering evening at La Lande. The peacocks make regular appearances in my songs because they're impossible to ignore if you've visited the chateau. Working solely with my MacBook Pro, I used 'Output Arcade' to help me a little bit here in terms of instrumentation. My lyric writing is instinctive. I go with whatever feels right melodically, then work to make everything else fit around that foundation. I'll freestyle into voice memos until the words start forming into something that makes sense (or probably still doesn't). It's as if the song already exists somewhere, and I'm just trying to discover it. And yes, I use RhymeZone more than I'd like to admit. The music style was inspired by the type of music Stephanie used on her previous videos.

"Summer at the Chateau" came together during a 2am creative session at La Lande with just my MacBook Pro. Summer at the Chateau

"Dust and Grace" came together during another late night creative session at La Lande with just my MacBook Pro. It was inspired by the ongoing construction at the Grand Salon, which I could see whenever I walked out of my room. Dust and Grace

This was a tricky one. To honor Marie's Norwegian roots, I incorporated folk elements, using a lute instead of a guitar, while her evolution at La Lande called for a more fairytale sound. She has a signature style of appearing out of nowhere, dancing between rooms while tending to guests, and thus, a waltz was quite fitting.

A piece for my wife, inspired by the late James Horner:

A tender, luminous, and textural piece. The idea was to use James Horner’s technique of using high-register piano and harp ostinatos (quasi-random notes) as the primary texture. Strings play with broad, rising swells. The trick is to let the harmony and phrasing imply the melodic shape of the theme. This was done back in 2022 with access to my minimalistic home studio.

I built this song around an old instrumental I wrote called 'Pandora' - it's been collecting dust in my files for about 10 years. The lyrics work on several levels, but the main thread is about pushing forward when things get tough or depressing, and learning to face those struggles head-on rather than letting them weigh you down.

The Chateau Ghosts

The lyrics are written from the perspective of the Chateau itself, speaking to its inhabitants. The song went through many iterations, some quite melancholic and possibly even a bit dark, which tends to be my comfort zone. My wife was instrumental in helping me find the right tone and crafting the lyrics. She's been following the show from the beginning, while I've only caught episodes sporadically over the years. The tributes to the LaLanders actually come from her observations and insights. We wrote this song while staying as guests at La Lande, sitting in the Winter Salon during the heatwave. Fortunately, there was a guitar within reach.

Aigurande

I'm a composer, songwriter, and technologist working across genres, from cinematic scores to alternative rock and stripped-back acoustic. I create mostly by ear, guided by instinct and emotional tone, with a grounding in early piano, vocal training, and music theory fundamentals.

I often process the world musically, moments, people, or emotional energy can spark melodies or textures in my mind. Some call it synaesthesia, but for me, it's just part of how I work.

Most tracks start with a voice note or a musical fragment, then evolve through piano, guitar and production tools. Lyrics follow the same instinctive path, glimpsed, assembled, refined. I work in Logic Pro X using Kontakt, EastWest, Arcade, Scalar, Steinberg, Waves, and Kits.ai (ethically licensed vocal models).

I've performed live, but I'm most at home writing in solitude. Some tracks are polished, some rough, but each aims to capture something emotionally honest. If a song lands with you, then it was for you.
