MOTHER RECORDINGS welcome back esteemed Berlin duo MAT.JOE for another EP that is packed with real heat. Originally from Hannover, they moved to Berlin and have since impressed with their soul infused rhythms on plenty of top labels like Hot Creations & Aaarival, but they are regularly supplying the heat for MOTHER!

LOVE STREAM is first and is a seven minute bubbler with nice loose toms, driving sub bass and classic vocal samples that will get dancers moving and shaking. It’s warm and filled with good time vibes.

I GO is more physical, with raw drums and sharp percussive hits all driving along beneath a male vocal with real attitude. It’s sleazy and direct and sure to make you sweat. Last of all.

SO HIGH  is a big track with powerful drum loops, slapping hits and a fiery vocal that all come with healthy bass and rubbery drums. It’s a great way to close out another perfectly functional and fun EP from these ever on point producers.

It’s almost Christmas time and here, at elrow Music, we want to start the celebration with a big comeback to our releases ranks. Label boss and tech-house honcho De La Swing is back with a three tracker EP of two originals and one high rolling remix, by the one and only Mathias Kaden. ‘Everyday EP’ opens up with the title track, ‘Everyday (Original Mix)’, a track with a steady but soft percussion, a hip-hopish vocal line that sings about love, and a nice 90’s infused melody by the middle of the track, with an overall vibe that everyone associates with elrow and its parties. Then we have ‘Creeper (Original Mix)’, that opens with a swifter percussion and starts in full energy thanks to that exotic vocal line we hear in the back of the track. With FX coming and going, the synth treatment De La Swing uses is just mind-blowing and will make the crowd lose it in the middle of the dancefloor, making this carnivalesque track perfect for the busiest times in the dancefloor. Finally, closing the EP, we have Mathias Kaden’s remix of De La Swing’s ‘Everyday (Mathias Kaden’s Repitch Remix)’, in which the German producer twist the original track with a steadier and faster vibe, a bit harder, also distorting and playing with the vocal line and keeping the melodies, making it a more playful tune and fitter for peak times in the floor. Resuming, one huge delivery by the label boss De La Swing, that showcases his great moment, and an amazing re-interpretation by Kaden, who has perfectly understood what elrow Music’s line is all about. The next artist stepping up to mix Defected’s coveted In The House series is Melé, a producer whose standout percussive sound and infectious energy behind the decks makes him one of the UK’s most captivating, flourishing DJs. From 13-year-old bedroom DJ growing up in the Wirral to his breakout tribal anthem ‘Ambience’ in 2015, Melé has now fully honed his skills in production and mixing, culminating in two mixes for ‘Defected presents Melé In The House’ and three brand new productions. Two of these original productions are included in this sampler, demonstrating what’s to come from the compilation.

With live percussion from drum warrior Shovell, the cover of ‘Pasilda’ pumps up the track’s unmistakeable rhythms and piano melody (recorded live by prolific record producer Fraser T Smith) with an irresistibly hefty bassline and vocal loops. A long-time highlight of Melé’s sets but until now unreleased, ‘Pasilda’ is an exclusive from the upcoming compilation. The aptly named ‘Brooklyn Bounce’ is Melé’s ode to Danny Tenaglia, a key influence whose sought-after percussive spirit is apparent throughout Melé's work. This sophisticated pumping house cut with plenty of signature layered percussion is the perfect set-up for the anticipated ‘Defected presents Melé In The House’.

Australian born DJ and producer Kormak has been making waves on Sydney’s club scene, curating adrenaline filled sets that have gained him more than a few high-profile fans, including Aussie man of the moment Fisher. His last track, ‘Keep On’ featured in Simon Dunmore and Sam Divine’s stand-out b2b at Defected Croatia, and his debut release with DFTD maintains his bumping, bass-driven style of production. The release opens with the title track ‘Love On The Line’, a momentum building record that shows Kormak experimenting with the deeper, dubbier side of house music. By comparison, ‘Feel’ echoes classic house tracks with its vocal, intensified drums and undeniable funk.
