Following Mercia’s first official release and remix of I Still want in 2021, the Coventry based artist offers a full EP which consists of 5 pieces which explore and reflect his home town within the setting of breakbeat and UK bass. 6am starts off the exploration with ethereal atmospheres and lush piano before exploding into a full bodied breaks journey. 95 Bones’ remix follows this with a club ready acetate driven flip of the original which continues the story. The title track City Of Villains and Kiddah remix adds further spark to the package with a searing sub bass which is riddled with deep energy a syncopated reese bassline sharp breaks and shining accents before the EP is rounded off by the bubbling and energetic Hill Cross Flyover which closes out this journey channeling how we've all been feeling this past year waiting for the return of the dance; it carries Strictly Rhythm influence and a prescient vocal motif.

Vancouver's Club Designs imprint return with a new Various Artists EP that puts one of their favourite genres into focus: electro. The Irrégularités series is back with volume 2 on July 26 on all streaming platforms and on Bandcamp. Different artists, different vibes but always the same will to make vibrate on broken sounds.

Bruk is massive and even travels as far as New Zealand. The proof is with producer Hiki who, like his fellow countryman Mark de Clive-Lowe, brings this music alive on his island. His approach to music is exploratory, blending his different influences from disco to UK garage via boogie, jazz and house music. A combination that he applied to compose his track HOTTER, which is based on a Broken Beat rhythm while retaining a Deep ambience. The result is a magnetic journey punctuated by tight percussion and a driving groove.

I've been working really hard on so much new music in the past year, switching software and trying all sorts of new techniques to push myself and my sound. I can't wait to show it you and release it in the coming months...

I've always been happy with this tune "Admiral" but i've not really found the best way to work it into my release schedule and people regularly ask me about it. So I thought why not just give it out for free?

The Cliff

Marco Lazovic has been burning up dancefloors for over four years with his potent blend of house grooves and feisty jungle breakbeats, and so it continues on this new drop for Craft Music. "Dance System" is predominantly shaped out by gorgeous Detroit-inspired synths, but there's also some seriously spicy breaks choppage going off throughout the track. "The Dredwerkz" is a tight and punchy electro jam with plenty of melodic delights fluttering around the 808 drums, while "Daydreaming" gets further up the tempo range to outright ambient jungle a la early Good Looking. "End Theme" stays in jungle mode for an acute exercise in classic rollage.
