Now four releases in, Razor-N-Tape Reserve continues to deliver the deepness with this EP from the Netherlands’ Junktion. Although a relative upstart on the scene, Junktion has been getting some serious heads nodding lately with releases on Sleazy Beats and Outplay, and the Hot & Bothered EP continues to define his dusty and organic sound. From the summery ease of the title track, to the fresh take on the oft-sampled 'I'm Wishin' to the discofied chugger 'Fling Cleaning' followed by the slow-burning 'Visions of You,' this EP is a beautiful listen from beginning to end. The Future Disco brand has been renowned for their iconic compilations since 2009. With an A&R reputation for compiling and releasing credible collections and the digital landscape giving labels more freedom than ever before, it seems like the perfect time to unleash singles on the label, keeping to the 21st Century Disco sound they have carefully crafted since day one.

The first release on the label comes from Vhyce, a producer from Belgium who makes funk laden house and delivers a remastered version of his dancefloor hit Just To Make Me, including brand new remixes from ONSRA (Exploited) and Till Von Sein (SUOL, Dirt Crew Recordings).

The @COEO duo can do no wrong these days and they've delivered an absolute stellar EP yet again for their regular label home @ToyTonics.

It goes without saying we’re big fans of Berlin-based label Toy Tonics and it’s probably of little surprise that we’re quite keen on their star duo COEO (soundcloud) as well. With a resume of an act double their age, Florian Vietz and Andreas Höpfl have been responsible for more than their fair share of underground hits. Native Riddim, Back In The Day, and Mydonna (the alternate cut of course) have them coming in with strong contenders for any top ten list for 2015, 2016, and 2017. While their latest effort, Flesh World may not make as immediate a statement as some of their previous work, you’ll surely be finding all three tracks from the EP in DJ sets around the globe. We have the pleasure of introducing the first track on the EP, a slow burning disco cut that sneaks out of Toy Tonics’ vaults just before the Summer season comes to an end.

Clocking in at a chunky 117 beats per minute, the oddly named Flesh World sucks you in with a hypnotic progression and a cheekily added layer of white noise that combine to create an immediate feel good mood. As the song continues, drums build as we’re treated with more and more of the original sample until all the elements come together for the song’s climax just past the 2 minute mark. Things will ebb and flow once more before the song is finished, perhaps leaving us wondering how we just listened to essentially the same loop for over 6 minutes. That just goes to show you the brilliant reputation that COEO have earned themselves as masters of sample selection and arrangement is definitely warranted. It’s no wonder they’ve found a home on Toy Tonics and are regularly touted as some of the labels brightest stars.

The Kapote album is out for a couple of months and rarely you could see so much euphoric feedback on Toy Tonics releases. 

From Black Madonna to DJ Artwork, DJ Harvey to Detroit Swindle, Gerd Janson, Busy P to Moodyman and Honey Dijon. The tracks are getting played everywhere. 

So it makes sense to come up with some reworks of the album tracks.

On the 2nd remix EP, Sworn Virgins from DeeWee, Art of Tones and Rahaan made new versions.. and as the “Delirio Italiano” track is getting so much love Kapote made an alternative version. 

But here is a taste of Art of Tones' stellar revision.

Lumberjacks in Hell has been founded in 2010. Intimate Friends followed in 2013. For some people the difference or the need for distinction between these two is quite evident but to give you an idea. Lumberjacks is always 100% for the dance floor, inspired by the music from Chicago and Detroit which is not only reflected in the Artists we release. Intimate Friends is a headier affair. Soul, Hip Hop and House are all fair game. If you check the releases next to each other both labels have a distinct sound. And maybe a certain BPM range. This isn't saying that some of the music couldn't have appeared on either label but somehow it all makes sense to me.
