I like the internet. It drives me crazy too. But it helps us to get to know each other and stay in touch. I dont even know if i ever met Prequel
 in real life, I really dont. Maybe we passed by like trains in the night, ever so close that we could shake hands but never really in the same room to break bread. 

But we have an online friendship built on Seinfeld and MF Doom, memes and heartbreak. The best people are shy about their work and music and hold back with it to a fault, that's how you know even before you check it out that its going to be meaningful. 

Sometimes you just know when there is a click, how is gonna turn out beautiful and special. Somewhere alomg the way we invited Paul Mcdonald to come up with the artwork for this EP and today the whole process of opening up, being hurt and watching the wounds close and heal... all of this is being released into the open for you to fall in love with a record and make it your own, to dance, to cry, to dream and to love.

It's a good moment to release a record. In springtime, April being my favourite month, the expectation of the world going back to "normal", a festive senssation in the back of our minds.
Fall in love and fall hard, regret nothing.

It is not everyday we are sent a 5 hour mix from someone we have asked to join our Phonica mix series; but when Sheffield & Manchester legend Luke Una sends one… you have to jump straight into it! Having become first recognised in the late 80’s and 90’s as one half of production team “The Unabombers” with Justin Crawford, Luke over the years has shown to be a master in all genres be it Balearic, to Brazilian to E soul, House, Disco and Techno, you name it! With his Worldwide FM show over the years gaining a cult following Luke has gained an even more of a broader crowd from his curation of his E Soul Cultura compilation series via the label Mr.Bongo (Both comps topping our EOY lists in 2022 and 2023). This exact vast taste (that is displayed in these compilations) is very much pummelled into this five hour journey of a mix like a piece of clay and sculpted into a fine piece of art. Lumberjacks in Hell has been founded in 2010. Intimate Friends followed in 2013. For some people the difference or the need for distinction between these two is quite evident but to give you an idea. Lumberjacks is always 100% for the dance floor, inspired by the music from Chicago and Detroit which is not only reflected in the Artists we release. Intimate Friends is a headier affair. Soul, Hip Hop and House are all fair game. If you check the releases next to each other both labels have a distinct sound. And maybe a certain BPM range. This isn't saying that some of the music couldn't have appeared on either label but somehow it all makes sense to me.
