M A R C H  D I V I S I O N

is a collective of musicians and producers founded by Andy Vitali (Vocals, guitars, bass, synths, programming & production), Emanuele Platania (Drum, percussions and drum machines) in late 2010. March Division sing about love in post-atomic landscapes, wars of modern times, failures of modern society, memories of youth, suburban hopes and dreams as a way out. They range from indie rock and britpop to synthpop and more electronic influenced music.   

2012 - 2013

Their debut album "Radio Daydream" was released in Italy by My Place Records in January 2012.
In September 2012 they played on the roof of the IBAT college in Dublin for Balcony TV closing their first promotional tour. They then started recording the new album in their own studio in the Alps.
In July 2013 the band played at Rock in Roma supporting Neil Young and continued as opening act in November supporting The Rainband from Manchester.

2014

In February they released "Right On My Way”, the first single from their upcoming second album. The video of the song was released as "Video of the day" on Rolling Stone Italy and made its TV debut with a one week heavy rotation on Rock TV Italy.
In July they played at Rock in Roma for the second time supporting Paolo Nutini and The Rainband.
Their second album "Post Meridian Soul" was released in October with Irma Records and Ocarina Management.
They started their first Italian tour that drove them all over the country for several months with more than 40 gigs.
In November they released the third single 'Friday Will Come" which was broadcast several times on independent radio stations.

2015

While the band was on tour in February, they released Luca Urbani's (SOERBA) remix of 'Sell-by date' 
After a gig in Trieste in late February, they also recorded an unplugged session for Sofar Sounds Trieste.
They then finished the tour in July with an appearance at the DIZ Festival in Milan.
Later that year they released an album called "From The Cold Light Of This Winter", featuring outtakes and re-arranged versions of the songs from the first two LPs, along with the video of "Downtown Devil", shot in London by the band.
They also remixed songs from Italian indie bands like We Are Waves and The Doormen.

2016 - 2017

In January they embarked on a new promotional tour where they presented a more stripped-back live set, also playing at the Rock’n’Roll Marathon in Liverpool.
They spent most of 2016 experimenting with new synths and recording the bulk of the third album.
In April 2017 they finished recording and mixing the new material, then in July they released a new song, “Pale Noon”.
A new EP called “ABSENCE” was released later in October along with the new single “Shake Me Gently” that was premiered on Rolling Stone Italia, followed by more live dates across Italy during 2017 and 2018

They released the third album called “Rain Empire” in March 2019, with songs that gained independent radio stations airplay.
The band, after few shows supporting the new album, went on an indefinite hiatus in 2020.

Few releases of unreleased material, acoustic live sessions and other studio rarities are set to be released from November 2024 and the first months of 2025.
