Storyline--Sometimes it's a female soldier who is called to duty, leaving the man in her life behind. So it's the man singing, saying it ain't fair....and hoping for her safe return. A bit amateurish in production quality, but this was from my first cd done in 2009.

Semaj

This can be interpreted as an anti-war song, but it wasn't entirely intended to be that. It's more of a candid, personal show of feeling--the loneliness, yearning, heartache and worry that are inevitable when a loved one is taken away to do a job for the government. Sometimes that's a noble and justified mission, and sometimes not. But either way, the loved ones left behind back in the States must find a way to cope, and it's never easy. Vocal by Ben Phillip, harmonies by Susan Devita....with guitar work by Anthony Pomes, and arranged by John Tabacco. 

It's No Fair

Since their earliest beginnings in the mid-1970s, the wine vineyards of Long Island's north fork have been a continuing story of growth:  Grapes growing on vines, later transformed into fine wines, fueling a booming industry (which now includes the travel and tour biz too.) This song is meant as nothing more than an ode, or a "happy toast" to Long Island--where I was born and raised--and its well-established wine industry. As a regular wine-imbiber, I am proud of Long Island, its beautiful north shore, and its sprawling wine country, which dominates life on the north fork (the far east end of L.I.--with the South Fork being famous as well, as the home of The Hamptons.....but that's another story!)

I meant this song to be about someone / a couple getting "spring fever" in the middle of the winter. But since the weather in the northeast has been so wintry (even though spring has been here for a month, just about!) I decided it could also be about getting spring fever, even though it still feels like winter around here!
