Three Strangers (based on We Three Kings by John Henry Hopkins Jr)

This song is a little daydream I wrote out of the darkness my best friend ShAnkAri has been living through. She’s been fighting battles she should’ve never had to face — corruption, injustice, loneliness, survival — and one day, when things felt especially heavy, she said, “We should write a song about what we’d do if we had one million dollars.”

That spark came from her, and it turned into something much bigger than a joke or a fantasy. It became a way to breathe again.

“One Million Dollars” is what bloomed from that moment.

It’s a picture of the world we wish she could step into: the lawyer who actually fights for her, the justice that finally shows up, the weight lifting off her shoulders after years of being crushed by the system. And then it shifts into something softer — two sisters-at-heart running through Paris, laughing again, finally allowed to feel light, rebuilding a life that cruelty tried to steal from her.

It’s playful, emotional, a little silly, and very real.
Because sometimes humor is the only umbrella you have in the rain, and sometimes dreaming with someone is the only way to remind them they’re not alone.

This song is a love letter to her resilience, to the bond we share, and to every person who has ever looked at their life and thought, “If I just had one miracle…”

It’s a reminder that even when the world feels impossible, sisterhood and imagination can still create a place where you’re safe, seen, and celebrated — even if just for the length of a song.
