Terry Da Libra vs. Motorcycle - Rush to Epiphany (Bryn Liedl Mashup)

The Twirl family continues to successfully expand well into its second year as a sought after imprint. The first year of releases from label runners Shaun J. Wright & Alinka featured remixes from the likes of Kim Ann Foxman, JD Samson, Snuff Crew and Lil’ Mark, with support from BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Heidi, alongside notable artists Kenny Glasgow, Groove Armada and Robert Owens. The second year of releases has included the much praised “The Wisdom To Know The Difference” EP from Ena Lind and the dark & dirty “It’s Acid” from theApollo Music Group and Bump Music boss Lil’ Mark and dancefloor veteran Della. Twirl favorite, Spatial Awareness, returns with his unique brand of dancefloor demolition for his second EP on the label, “Let’s Get Visceral”.
The release opens with the title track, ‘Let’s Get Visceral (Original Mix)’, a throbbing tune with a percolating bassline. Catchy vocal samples weave between the nimble percussion and building strings, forewarning dancers that the track will be “taking over your body”. Echoing synth stabs tracing the funky bassline and subtle drum twists prove to be rapturous as the track progresses.
Hailing from Mexico City, Mijo & Macaulay re-envision the tune as a Twiloesque circuit banger in the best way imaginable. While maintaining the original’s infectious bassline, the duo add a filtered synth line that is relentless alongside stuttering vocals and a streamlined arrangement.
‘Dead Meta (Original Mix)’ is a slow-burning, winding acid number that builds from a foundation of jacking claps and rims before morphing into a chill inducing, warped affair sure to set the dancefloor ablaze.
Photonz & Violet from Lisbon round off the package swimmingly with a remix that shifts the original acid and string elements into a driving tour-deforce that can sit comfortably in most peak-hour sets.

With his unique sound between House and Techno, Alex Flatner not only made himself a name with his label work, e.g. for his own imprint Circle Music, he also has been given the opportunity to play at clubs and festivals all over the world. After the first two EPs on Still Hot it is now up to him to prove his skills with the catalog number 003 for the label, that he founded together with Martin Eyerer and Benny Grauer back in 2016. On the second release of Still Hot (Ninetoes – “Whaddup Kid”) he delivered a remix, now is the time for him to present a solo EP.

“Welcome To My Life” reflects all that the name Alex Flatner stands for - high-quality sounds, an excellent arrangement and an innovative instrumentalisation of House and Techno elements. In addition, there is a remix by Markus Homm & Mihai Popoviciu on this release, who were responsible for the catalog number 001 on Still Hot with their EP “Insomnis”. With the cryptic name “Schizodistel”, Alex Flatner rounds up his current release and proves that he can also provide diverse tracks with the help of minimalistic structures, oldschool sounds and lots of effects.

Recently he showed up with his reinterpretation of Piemont’s “Gingersnap” on Lapsus and also his latest release on his own imprint Circle Music entitled “Philharmonic” together with studio partner LOPAZZ and with awesome remixes by Christian Burkhardt and Definition gained quite some publicity. Now here comes “Welcome To My Life” on Still Hot. Alex Flatner is living and breathing electronic music, and this EP is equally an homage to this lifestyle, as well as an invitation to join it.

Underground Berlin duo TRU. return to Loot Recordings with a package of deep, analog-driven techno that includes remixes by Sascha Dive and Mira & Christopher Schwarzwalder. 

TRU.’s debut release ‘Knick / Skalar’ on Loot Recordings received widespread support from big hitters like Laurent Garnier, Kevin Sanderson and Claude Von Stroke to name a few. They are back with a release that again confirms they’re a name to pay attention to.

The EP kicks off with ‘Porphyr’, an analog pounding analog track that grooves alone with a massive kick and grinding synths that create tension and haunting moments. An eerie, slow burning ambient ‘Intro Version’ is also included and is the perfect atmospheric track to open or close any set with real drama. 

Remixing ‘Porphyr’ is Frankfurt’s Sascha Dive, a quality purveyor of the deep on labels such as Cocoon Recordings, King Street and his own Deep Vibes. His less-is-more version is a hypnotic and deep tech house production that carries you away for seven-plus minutes of endless grooves and gentle synth melodies. 

The next original is ‘Trachyt’, a powerhouse that’s dominated by writhing synths and the punch of an 808 with claps, menacing synths and pattering toms all building to a wild peak before the breakdown allows the dance floor to catch its breath. It then kicks back in with a vengeance and will take any crowd to a higher energy peak.

Berlin’s Mira & Christopher Schwarzwalder remix offers their own deep groove of perfectly programmed synths, effects and warm keys, with the result being something special for the late night moments of a Berlin club or the morning sunrise of Burning Man.

Not many people knew that Magdalena has been part of the Diynamic family since the very beginning, but initially chose to remain in the background. For long years she used to run the label’s renowned EGO club in Hamburg, getting acquainted with every aspect that was essential to a good party. With constant contact to the scene’s most prolific artists, she soon discovered her desire to get behind the decks, using the early-morning after parties at her club prove her talent. After starting her own regular night there, word got out and her calendar began filling up with bookings at Europe’s most renowned underground clubs, as well as worldwide Diynamic Showcases and Festivals.

As she is someone who always puts in 100%, it was obvious that she could only pursue one of her passions - EGO was closed at the height of its success. What remains is the annual EGO AIR, an outdoor event series in summer that she hosts in her hometown Hamburg.

Magdalena’s past as a booker and club manager might have given her those crucial skills that every DJ needs: knowing what the people want, reading them and reacting to their needs, while simultaneously directing those needs in a path that you have laid out for the night. Or maybe she’s just a natural.

Her musical taste, along with the distinct mixture of sociability and serenity in her character are amongst the reasons why she is so popular on Ibiza – 2016 saw her first very own residency on the White Isle along with a regular radio show on Ibiza Sonica Radio called “Magdalena’s Pony Farm” - a reference to her “ponies”, the group of party girls that accompany her at every party and after party she visits.

Magdalena is a long time friend of the Mobilee crew and debuts on their sister label Leena Music with a three track ep that reflects her musical talents perfectly.

Today we start with a huge house track from Manchester produced by the duo System2 which grew up in this city which clearly inspired them as we can hear it in their new track intitled « The Bass the drum ». They are no strangers to house music since they have worked with Cécille Records, Get physical Music, PIAS and Nervous to only mention a few of them. They also were residents at Sankeys in Manchester, the temple of house music up there. The track will be released on September 1st on FORM Music, be prepared and enjoy ❤
