JINGLES ACAPELLA'S RADIO 10 GOLD JAM/TOP FORMAT

Here's a collection of custom jingles Top Format produced some 15 years ago for German Antenne Niedersachsen. The package, with a then brand new sonic logo, leans to pop rock and has a lot of duets (male female).

The station was and is mostly (Hot) AC but positioned itself in those days as Hitradio. It always had a fair audience but switched too often it's format or positioning to keep a steady #1 position in the market.

Here are all basic tracks of the Pure Pop Music package created for Rebecca Radio in 2002 by Top Format. 

The station switched from Hot AC to 'Best Songs' format, playing 70s (Bachman Turner Overdrive, America, Stones), 80s (Chris Rea, Yes, Johnny Hates Jazz, Christians) and 90s (Dandy Warhols, Oasis, Travis, Matchbox 20) along with format fitted Dutch music.

The jingles were originally produced for Capital FM by Music4. Some cuts are in house productions.

In december 1989 Dutch public broadcaster VARA remembered the 80s in 80 hours. Just for this project they asked Top Format to resing JAM's We Talk New York (WMCA). I think it's the shortest used package ever :-)

With this package Dutch Radio 3 started competition with commercial radio in 1991. The package was produced by JAM in the US but sounded very Europeish, because it was originally created for BBC Radio 1.

Here's an overview of all JAM 'Really Nice' cuts we had resung for Radio Noord in 2001. It was the sequel to 'It's Nice' and 'Very Nice' two years earlier, at Top Format. The station boosted to a smashing 36% market share back then. 

The lyrics 'Radio Noord waar je Groningen hoort' mean 'Radio Noord were you here Groningen', a poetic way to say that anything that happens, can be found at the station.

Here are all main cuts from JAM's 'Sky Trax' package created for pilot station Sky Radio in the Netherlands. It's the follow up to the 'Omnitrax' package, the station had resung in 1988.

These cuts use the same audio logo. The sequel to this one was again a JAM custom, in which the stations frequency (100.7 FM) was sung too by Dutch singers. That package ('Best of Both Skies') I will post later on.

For hardly 2 years Chancellor Media tried to conquer New York radio market with Hot AC station Big105. The station signed on in 1997 with JAM jingles (WNIC packages) and asked Reelworld shortly after to produce this package. It hasn't been demoed a lot.

Here are all main tracks from the KOIT custom series as produced by former Thompson Creative. The unique logo and instrumentation gave the station based in San Francisco a sound with a strong personality.

These days they use the in my opinion less unique Reelworld One series.

Z100 Idents 80s

Here are a few cuts produced by Top Format based on JAM tracks in the 80s, for the German market. German government opened up the market those years for commercial radio which boosted jingle productions for many years. There are cuts from The Best Show-series, WYNY, KSON and some more.

Here are all main cuts JAM created for German Alpha/Delta Radio, a rock outlet that started off in the 90s. A coproduction of Top Format and JAM, and one of the first European custom packages. I didn't find this demo on the JAM site, maybe I overlooked it.

Reelworld Heritage Custom Jingles Noordzee FM (Sunny logo)

In 1989 Sky Radio Netherlands was launched on cable with the famous Omnitrax package from JAM. But Top Format also produced these little songs with tracks from the W.B. Tanner Company, originally created for the country format of the 80s. 

They had great lyrics ('That's my life set to music, that's my story in a song', beautiful arrangements and blended well - and are still part of our collective radio memory.
