Barshasketh Biography

BARSHASKETH was formed in 2007 as a solo-project by Krigeist with the intention of creating pure black metal, intentionally free of genre cross-pollination: second-wave blasphemy re-imagined and reinterpreted through extensive use of layering and counterpoint. After two well-received demos via Wolfsvuur Records, the debut album Defying the Bonds of Cosmic Thralldom emerged in 2010. Following the release of the first full-length, Krigeist relocated to Scotland after travelling through southeast Asia. After settling there, he went about piecing together a live lineup, and a series of live performances followed, culminating with a show in support of Negative Plane. Out of this live lineup, GM (guitars and vocals) was made a permanent member and BH was recruited on drums. This trio recorded the second full-length, Sitra Achra, released in 2013 through Todestrieb Records. After recruiting bassist BB on bass, the lineup was complete, and BARSHASKETH recorded two split EPs in quick succession. The band went on to record a third full-length, Ophidian Henosis, at the infamous Necromorbus Studio in Stockholm. This most recent full-length undoubtedly presents the band’s finest work to date and showcases a new level of musical and lyrical maturity. Extolling an adversarial spirituality, these seven hymns of darkness evangelize the impure and the obscene.

THE THIRD STUDIO ALBUM FROM ONE OF THE PREMIERE NORWEGIAN BLACK METAL ACTS OF RECENT TIMES, FEATURING GUEST APPEARANCES FROM DIMMU BORGIR AND 1349 MEMBERS

Mork was created by Thomas Eriksen in the town of Halden in Norway during 2004. Mork was primarily a side-project for Eriksen from inception until the debut album release in 2013, & since then the band has rightly earned their accolade as one of the top Norwegian black metal acts of recent years, receiving strong endorsements from their peers.

‘Eremittens Dal’ is Mork’s third album, and stands as a tribute to the spirit of old-school Norwegian black metal. The album is primarily inspired by the works of Darkthrone & Burzum, complete with raw production & ice-cold riffs, but with its own dynamic and atmospheric twist; stepping effortlessly between the ferocious and the melancholy. The album covers themes of hate, death, seclusion and misanthropy, both lyrically and in the way that a one-man-band makes music in solitude, perfectly fitting of the title, translated as ‘Valley of the hermit’. The suitably grim pencil cover art comes courtesy of Jannicke Wiese-Hansen, who famously made artwork for early Burzum and Satyricon releases. 

Having featured guest vocals from none other than Darkthrone’s Nocturno Culto on their previous album, ‘Eremittens Dal’ includes special guest appearances from Dimmu Borgir's Silenoz who contributes vocals on two tracks, plus additional bass parts from 1349's Seidemann. ‘Eremittens Dal’ was recorded at Rottehullet Studio in Halden, Norway. It was mixed by Freddy Holm at Kleiva Studio & mastered at Enormous Door in the US (Darkthrone’s The Underground Resistance & Arctic Thunder).

This edition of 'Eremittens Dal' will be released CD presented in a digipack packaging complete with a 16-page booklet. Though Mork is essentially a solo-project, a full live line-up has been established, where the band has already played throughout Europe and parts of North America, plus famously a recent show in Izmir, Turkey, following in the footsteps of the legendary Mayhem.

Deströyer 666 - A Breed Apart

After more than 20 years, the long overdue official album from legendary cult black metal legion, VON, will make its proper debut on October 31 via Von Records. VON creator, Jason “Venien” Ventura, entered the Von Records studio — “The Pit” – in Litchfield Park, Arizona to record 19 classic tunes from the band’s incubation period. The end product, Satanic Blood, was produced by Venien, mixed by Andrew Ragin at Wall To Wall Recording Studios in Chicago, Illinois and mastered by John Gray at The Jungle Studios in Scottsdale, Arizona. Satanic Blood will be available in a 12? x 12? 20-page booklet with a mounted CD inside the back cover. The included booklet contains 17 stunningly grim illustrations by Venien as well as full lyric sheets and liner notes.


Coinciding with the mammoth release, The Ritual Of The Black Mass shall commence with the manifestations of VON and the Black Coming of Venien in the flesh in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City. These will be the ONLY VON SHOWS of 2012. See further info below:
