I wrote this song about a girl I know.
She overcame so much, yo here we go.

Growing up  in the 70s and 80s.
Had a tough time growin up in Spokane.
An absent father and an alcoholic mother.
Yea, she knew what it was to persevere.

She was married at age 17.
Two kids later, divorced at 19.
Had her third kid at age 21.
In another relationship with a struggling one.

This went on for 8 years.
Till she saw some fears,
He just couldn’t lay off the beers.

Now a single mom with 3 kids.
What an amazing job she did.

With street smarts and little education.
She started college, 30 years of dedication.
She still had to work and provide for the kids.
College start and stop, had to take care of her biz.

Wanting to provide a better life.
Better life, better life.

Inspired by my kids.
Growing for my family.
Earning and learning.
To provide for their needs.

Wanting to be a transitional fam.
Changing past legacy, oh man.
Thanking God for the wisdom.

As time went by she climbed the corporate ladder.
While raisin those kids, that girls a scrapper.
Then came kid number four with her life partner.
Another great kid for her to mentor.

All this time starting and stopping college.
Trying to get it done but it wasn’t happening.

She landed a job she had no business getting.
Only pharma rep in the country, no degree.
With positive attitude, gutsy, and scrappy.
She pulls off those amazing things.

All while working her tail off. Yea.
To provide for her family.

Makin everything better for all our lives.
Took her 30 years to get that degree.
So proud of my wife, let’s celebrate, yipppeeee.
