With ‘Storm Chaser’ – their first single post the release of the ‘Wake Your Mind’ album - still raising big room temperatures globally, EDM cosmonauts Nic Chagall and Bossi are poised to send the Fahrenheit flying again. Making its first appearance on their Trance Nation mix-comp album in 2012, ‘Crushed’ quickly became a set-request standing order for crowds at C.G. gigs. Now, with its anthem credentials already well advanced, its long awaited official release is close at hand…

Beating the remix path for the track, Comic Gate have passed ‘Crushed’s keys to underground Dutch heroes Mark Sixma and Rafaël Frost.

Premiered by Armin on ASOT of June 20th, Sixma super-charges his rework with striking rimshot percussion, festival-revving EDM FX and some seismic bass and drums. The Tilburg-based producer masterfully sets up ‘Crushed’ harmonic/euphoric interchange with some crowd-flaming modulation lines, pulling off a dazzling, head-spin top-of-the-drop moment.

Rafaël Frost crushes in both harmonic shades and electro aspects to the frontend of his version. He builds the boom-factor with big concussive tech-trance sequences; allows the pitch wheel to climb high-rise high, and with a final flourish serves ‘Crushed’s big stabbed anthemic mainline.

Marco V has been in scintillating form all year and shows no signs of letting up, breaking down rough-edged trance to the very last ‘BE/AT’. Those with front row seats need to hold on tight as the veteran runs a gauntlet of dark eruptions lit up by astral crossfire, pressure building where power surges and bass throbs ring around the arena like sonic whiplash. Quelling the crisis, a breakdown presided over by a dancefloor dictator declares what’s required of you, the raver, as if announcing the biggest heavyweight championship clash of all time. Safe to say this is yet another Marco V epic. 
 
In Charge head and source of ‘Propaganda’, Marco V is a been there-done that model of consistency, a scene mainstay who has been DJing, producing, remixing and running labels since the 90s. Achievements and honours are long and plentiful, playing house, trance and the sounds in between at some of the world’s biggest festivals, and remixing artists as diverse as Madonna, Nicole Scherzinger and 50 Cent. Not everyone gets to rework genuine anthems from Age of Love and Energy 52, and his Southside Spinners project famously became a top 10 hit, soundtracking the teenage adventures of ‘Kevin & Perry Go Large’.  
 
At the peak of his powers for a quarter of a century, he has featured in DJ Mag’s Top 100 list for 10 years in a row, with the marauding ‘BE/AT’ the latest in his distinctively titled VISION 20/20 series following ‘HO/PE’ ‘HU/NT’, ‘WA/VE’, ‘PU/RE’ and ‘RAB/BIT’.

If you take ‘HY/BRID’ as one part high voltage to set the night alight and one part brute force diesel power, you’re not far off this Holy Trinity employing slamming beats and pulsating riffs with a slight holographic quality to them. It’s a simple, blood pumping formula rich in dancefloor devastation, Robert Gitleman aligning with Rafael Osmo as Alt_Man and the Vision 20/20 of Marco V en route to becoming a three-headed tech-trance superpower, specializing in blasting DJ booths into smithereens.   
                                                                                     
Marco V has been there, done that and is still here and doing it, In Charge’s head maintaining quadruple threat status as DJ, producer, remixer and label manager. Playing house, trance and more at some of the world’s biggest festivals since the 90s, and remixing artists as diverse as Madonna, Nicole Scherzinger and 50 Cent, achievements and honours have naturally come thick and fast. Anthems from Age of Love and Energy 52 have received Marco’s magic touch, and the teenage adventures of ‘Kevin & Perry Go Large’ wouldn’t be the same without his Southside Spinners project perfecting a top 10 moment in time. 
 
A tale of two Tel Aviv top guns, Rafael Osmo has over a decade of industry expertise in the tank, taking in the twin titans of Paul Van Dyk’s Vandit imprint and Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto label while running his own Progline project. The Israeli has the backing of Markus Schultz, Aly & Fila and Hernan Cattaneo to call on – a pretty formidable marker to lay down and pick off opposition with. Easily making the transition from teen DJ to global must-check, fellow countryman Robert Gitelman has emerged from the Israel club and dance radio scene to take on the best that Europe has to offer. Vastly experienced and always keeping clubbers on their toes under a variety of aliases, the movers and shaker of trance’s high kingdom have taken Gitelman to the hearts as well as their record boxes, perhaps best known for the Hooj Choons-signed ‘Signet’ and his 2003 remix of Three Drives on a Vinyl’s ‘Greece 2000’. 
 
With Osmo and Marco V already teaming this year for the king-sized ‘UN/RATED’ and Gitelman appearing on Osmo’s ‘General EP’ earlier in 2021, ‘HY/BRID’ shows three masters of their craft at their banging best.
