I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of you kind folks & talented musicians,to say thank you so much for your support & encouraging comments-it really means a lot me & the guys in the band! We're going to be recording again in next month,so i'll post the next bunch of w.i.p. demos as soon as they've been mixed to decent standard! The new line up is really taking shape & we're on the lookout for a singer,so next year should be an exciting time for the future of 'Mutant Gumbo'! This is a tune from back in 1996,i was in the band 'Touchwood' at the time & we had been together through some hard times! I wrote this while staying with my folks,i was in the midst of a divorce & reflecting deeply about life & love. If any of you have gone through that upsetting procedure,then you'll understand how i felt-my daughter was only 4 years old & i was breaking my heart thinking about how this could possibly effect our relationship in the future! I know i'm baring my soul somewhat,but loss of any emotional kind is something which we all have to deal with unfortunately! My Lucy is the light that eternally shines in my life & if the only reason i was born was to bring Lucy into the world-then that's fine by me! Love keeps us connected & together,we should never take that for granted! I hope ye'all never lose sight of what matters in life & i wish ye'all much love! I think the only reason this tune really works,is because it conveys real emotion & has a universal vibe! Thank ye'all for reading my ramblings & i hope ye'all dig the vibe my friends! I'm a huge fan of Van Halen & wanted to put together a monster rock tune that had a really cool riff featured throughout. The guitar solo was a 'take' on the day,so it's a 'live' backing track-that has been sonicaly enhanced,if you will!?! I really dig the vibe & it's great fun to play live-it really rocks the foundations ye'all! A tune from the 2016 sessions , I hadn't listened to this track in a while-after a listen I thought I would post it today. This tune was influenced by the band Diamond Head , a band who have inspired many other great bands. The middle section was influenced by Rush , a band that I have loved since I was a young dude & of course Led Zep have a huge influence on so many facets of my own writing. I was really chuffed when i wrote these lyrics,the tune itself had been something that i'd came up with a while before the lyrics-it's cool how songs won't let go of you & i'm glad i kept this tune until it felt complete to me!
