After a 4 years silence, The Sessions Recordings is back with a new release and a new musical direction. Where the label was mainly a "progressive house" brand since 2001,  the new year will see a rebranding of the imprint towards all things ambient, downtempo and synth-laden music. 

Up first is this stunning remix pack, of C-Jay & LOM's "Dormarch" release on Darin Epsilon's "Perspectives Digital" imprint, October 2021. Where the original track was a progressive stomper, this pack turns things upside down. 

With UK synth-legend Ian Boddy, Arjen "the Dutch Klaus Schulze" Schat and Marcorporation on remix duties, this is a must for anyone with a heart for synth-laden music. 

Ian Boddy has been around since... well, since forever actually. 
He's a synthologist, sound-designer and the owner of DiN music, one of the most renowned ambient recordlabels around. With numerous albums under his belt and covering a decades spanning career he's without doubt one of the founding fathers of the electronic music scene. 

Arjen Schat can easily be called the "Dutch Klaus Schulze" as his style is very reminiscent to the Berlin-school sound of Klaus and Tangerine Dream. His production skills are insanely good and his live use of hardware sequencers makes one feel thrown back in time, where Tangerine Dream used to take-over churches for their sequence driven space trips. 

Dutch producer and mastering engineer Marcorporation finishes this pack in style. Marco is most commonly known for his remix work for Jean-Michel Jarre, in the late 90's. You can check out his work on the cd single release of Oxygene 10 for example. 

And if this wasn't enough of a link to all things synth, let's point out once more that Stéphane Gervais (the featured artist on the original release) was Jean-Michel Jarre's right hand for almost a decade; both on stage as well as in the studio, being heavily involved in the production of albums like "Oxygene 3" - "Electronica 1, & 2" and "Equinoxe Infinity"

What happens when two heavyweights of electronic music team up?
Magic happens, that's what. Canada and the Netherlands have joined forces in the shape of Marco Grenier & C-Jay, who together made the track "oTwo" for Marco's upcoming new album.

Marco is known for many productions througout the scene for many years, but most remarkebly in the past 5 years for his work in the production team of Jean-Michel Jarre. In his role as production- / studio engineer he was largely responsible for the sound of the last 3 studio albums of Jarre and he is also heavily involved in making the new arrangements for Jarre's current tour, which started in the summer of 2016 and will continue this year.

C-Jay is also a household name in the electronic music scene; after a decade of releases in the deephouse and progressive house genre, he's amore recently known for his ambient / chillout projects for world renowned recordlabel Bedrock records. Having released 2 full length artist albums there in 2016, it was a matter of time before Marco noticed him. Having met each other during Jarre's show in Amsterdam last November, the idea for a collaboration track on Marco's album soon emerged. 
The track "oTwo" is nothing less but an electronic masterpiece, heavily influenced by their mutual love for Jean-Michel's work.

From the start of Jarre's "Electronic World Tour" Marco also took on the role as warm up act for the concerts. No need to say that the "oTwo" track will be part of Marco's new set for the second leg of the tour, starting in the desert of Israel coming april 6th, for a crowd of thousands in Masada.

In what has been an incredibly successful 2018 for Jon Hopkins; from the release of his critically acclaimed album, 'Singularity', to sold-out worldwide touring, today Hopkins is happy to share a heavy-hitting remix of the album’s title track by ANNA - one of techno’s most captivating and in-demand new producers.

After cutting her teeth in clubs around Sao Paolo from the age of 14, ANNA has slowly risen to be one of the scene’s most respected names, with releases on the likes of Kompakt and NovaMute, along with support from Sven Väth, Marcel Dettmann and Richie Hawtin to name a few.

Building on the original track, the 'Singularity' remix blends rugged techno and transcendent electronics, which mirrors the pinnacle of the album’s motion, delivering a claustrophobic yet uplifting energy. Arguably one of ANNA’s strongest releases to date.

ANNA’s remix of ‘Singularity’ drops on Domino on Friday 16th November.

I’ve made a little ambient mix of some of my all time favourite peaceful music.

The mix was originally made for a clinical trial for people undergoing something of a reconstructive therapy. It was designed to repeatedly and slowly transition between relaxed reflection, and stimulation of new thoughts, running for a 2 hrs 30 mins session. You’ll probably hear what I mean in the structure.

It also includes some unreleased music of mine which hasn’t been heard before, alongside many of the most beautiful pieces I could find. I hope you enjoy it.

Marco Grenier name over the last few years has become synonymous with quality production and remixes, requests has been flooding from all over the world for his skills.

Apart from being part of many musical projects of all kind, Marco I have now been working on the main Production Team of the Jean Michel Jarre’s albums Electronica 1 & 2 and Oxygene 3. This experience has allowed him to reach new levels of creativity and distinctive music production. Marco is the main performer in charge to warms up every Jean Michel Jarre’s shows on the upcoming Electronica World tour (Arena Version) besides being in the team for the live show.
Marco was in charge to warming up the crowd at Festival d'été de Québec in 2014,2015 & 2016 for Artists like Lady Gaga , The Killers , Foo Fighters , Deadmau5 , Tiesto & Mores. 
His works and productions landing roles on some of the most notorious labels in the business such as Ultra, Pacha, Little Mountain, Juicy Music, Plasmapool, EyezCream Recordings and Spinnin'. 
Flashback to 2007, Marco Grenier was honored a "GÉMEAUX" prize from the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television for the musical theme of the Tv series "Minuit, Le Soir". Marco G shared this prize with his partners Mathieu Desaulniers, Dj Kal & Nicolas Maranda.

Marco Grenier belongs also to a group of DJs sponsored by Native Instrument’s Traktor, the leading technology in future DJ-ing. Marco uses Traktor , Maschine and S8 to push the boundaries of DJ capabilities and improve the live experience by providing feedback to Native Instruments in order to improve the technology.
