I did not come across your work before I saw you in Ozora 2024 last Wednesday night in the dome. You carried me on an amazing acid trip journey like never before. It was so rich with mood switches and pleasant ambient. I hope you saw me how much I was in my nirvana (I was wearing a green kimono, with dark hair bun and beard) and stayed until the end. It was an amazing, fun, and healing night for me. I cant thank you enough. God bless you :)

Ch 1

Among many crazy and funny things I said (and did) this summer, one sentence glued to my mind: 

LIFE IS A WONDERFUL THING TO WASTE! 

I meant this in a sense of "how much of ourselves are we willingly suffocating to maintain the image THEY have imposed on us so that we can develop, progress and move freely?" Life's too short to maintain that image. Live your life the way you want. Your life is only yours, and if it makes you happy to "waste it", well it's yours to waste!

After five or six years I played (almost only) a deep techno set at The Swamp, Mo:Dem Festival. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.

In my process of overthinking I labeled my style of (writing and) DJ-ing as BRICOLAGE /ˌbrɪkəˈlɑːʒ/. In the arts, bricolage (French for DIY or do-it-yourself) is "the construction or creation of a work from a diverse range of things that happen to be available, or a work constructed using mixed media." This definition fully and realistically corresponds to what I'm creating, whether it is a text or a DJ set. This definition also fits my punk philosophy and aesthetics.

Welcome HORI and his "The Dance of Deep Currents", setting the mood for the 2025 Pumpui stage experience.  Árpád Horváth, aka HORI, has been a dedicated observer of the underground electronic music scene since the late '80s and early '90s. As a DJ and promoter, he focuses on the bigger picture, filling gaps in the scene with fresh, truly underground music rather than following trends.  Born in 1982, his musical foundation was shaped by pioneers like Kraftwerk, Jean-Michel Jarre, Art of Noise, Tangerine Dream, Giorgio Moroder, Underworld, Prodigy, Juan Atkins, Drexciya, Laurent Garnier, Plastikman, Underground Resistance, Jeff Mills, British Murder Boys, Percy X, and Mike Parker. With over 25 years behind the decks, he gravitates toward psychedelic and hypnotic sounds, constantly pushing beyond the mainstream in search of deeper sonic experiences. A passionate and versatile DJ, HORI favors B-sides and moves seamlessly between turntables and digital decks.  Having lived in Serbia, Hungary, the UK, and now Malta, his time in London deeply influenced his approach, making his style fluid and genre-defying. Currently, he promotes and DJs deep, dub, and spherical techno, curating podcast series and shaping the vibrant electronic music scene in Malta and beyond under @nexus.xmt.  "The Dance of Deep Currents" perfectly captures the essence of the experience HORI aimed to create.
