Our song for Litha, aka the Summer Solstice, is part of our album The Windmill of the Year. It celebrates Bridie, the overlighting Divine Feminine spirit of the land of Avalon. She is also the bride of the Lord of Summer, who we first introduced in our song Beltane (hear that here: https://soundcloud.com/annie-dieu-le-veut/beltane) 

The word “Solstice” means "Sun stands still” in Latin, as it appears to do, for three days, at both the Summer and Winter Solstices. At the Summer Solstice, around the 21st of June in the northern hemisphere, the North Pole is turned the most towards the sun, providing us here with the longest day of sunshine of the year.

This track that me & scotty pitched ideas into was inspired by the legendary Led Zeppelin particularly the track - “Ramble on”, also inspired by heart - dream of the archer, we decided to use the mandolin as it was used prominently in 70s within the folk & hard rock context, also has abit of Celtic folk inspo from the 90s band The Cranberries. hope use enjoy!

The Archer

So here's how I got here. Hummed into the computer, added one of my more interesting drum beats, the one from Headed to The River, looped it, used the new midi translating ai to translate the humming, worked it through my keyboard plugin, did that twice for two instruments, added reverb to one of them, overtuned the original vocals, and turned them up, between the vocals and the midi, this was the melody that came out. Then, I melted it into a punk ballad in stable audio, and this is what we gots!
