Un camino que transita en la búsqueda de las emociones más básicas, un viaje que explora atmósferas frías, de lluvia y nieve, misterio... con una nota MI ligeramente desafinada que aparece y desaparece durante todo el tema, y un piano suave, que también se repite, como la voluntad constante de descubrir qué es lo que nos define, qué es lo que nos conmueve, qué podemos ofrecer...

A few months ago I read an article in the press about Wabi-sabi, a Japanese concept to refer to the beauty given off by certain low-fidelity, worn-out works of art that imprint a kind of melancholy before the old, that which is about to break or what will disappear.

The 'wabi-sabi' is also shown in a special way in the contemplation of nature and its appreciation as something outside of human action. "Human beings naturally impose their standards of value and perfection on the world, and in doing so, they conflict with a natural beauty that is best left free." This psychological approach to the concept encourages us to accept or celebrate imperfection, freeing us from the self-assumed tension to achieve perfection.

Since then I couldn't help but think of music as 'wabi-sabi', and I composed this song inspired by the concept. I hope you like it

"Más" is the unreleased song that opens the 10-track album, also called "Más" which compiles the piano soft tracks released in this 2022.

With a cinematic melody, it summarizes musically what has been this great year 2022, trying to capture that I have given more of myself, and is a statement of intent for the future, facing with enthusiasm a new year full of much more music and hopefully better.

This is the first ambient song I do with the exceptional guitarist Maneli Jamal; a project that emerged many months ago and that has been simmering; Maneli has distilled his art with several guitars over my base of strings, pads and pianos in a track that I can't get enough of listening to. Mixed by the musician and sound engineer Pouya Hamidi in Canada, and distributed with Soothe Sounds

At The Outset

The song I'm posting today makes me especially excited; it's my first collaboration with Swedish guitarist David Vestin. 

In this case I do a piano version of his song of the same name, which mixes melancholy and hope, inspired by neoclassical music and folk music from his native Sweden.

I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed it.

Os presento mi nuevo tema, “Irene”, la canción que le debía a mi mujer y compañera de vida; un viaje del que hoy se cumplen 10 años y que me ha inspirado una melodía que, por más contento que esté de ella, nunca estará a la altura de lo que ella significa en mi vida.

Para acompañar a la música, he hecho un vídeo con fotos de algunos de los viajes que hemos compartido estos 10 años; ojalá vengan muchos más, a lugares remotos o cercanos, siempre y cuando sean todos, a su lado.

Thanks for stopping by and reading a little about me and my music. It's taken me a long time to call myself a composer, but it's really what I've done since I was a child, imagining music in my head and putting it on the piano keys.

Without musicians in the family, the CASIO PT-10 that my parents gave me when I was 6 years old awakened my creativity and I asked them to study music theory in my native Seville (Spain), studies that I continued in Madrid, with 3 years of piano. Perseverance did not accompany me and music has always been my hobby, playing in local rock groups or simply sitting at my Petrof upright piano that my parents bought me with so much effort and that 35 years and 4 moves later, continues to play in the living room of my home.

In 2019 I take my first steps in self-publishing from my home studio and since then I have not stopped composing, with film music as a muse and the piano as a tool; Having created the soundtrack for the play “A Bordo de la Victoria”, premiered at the Seville Aquarium Auditorium, is one of the projects I'm most proud of; I am currently collaborating with guitarist Maneli Jamal on his minimalist piano project Astrid Sky.
