Deep in Germany's Black Forest, from a small house surrounded by thousands of mighty firs, Patrick Chardronnet - locked away in his room of humming machines - has dedicated well over a decade to honing his signature sound as an artist: crisp, high-definition beats and minimal grooves harnessed to an intuitive understanding of structure and melody. In between, he has toured extensively, intoxicating dancefloors across the USA, Japan, Europe and Russia and amassed a portfolio of stellar remixes.

With his new compilation, "Best of Patrick Chardronnet,"  the spirit and highlights of Patrick's outstanding career are highlighted, taking you from 'Ledge' - the debut that brought him to the attention of Poker Flat label boss Steve Bug, its booming menace and power undimmed - to two new exclusive tracks, fresh off the press and shortly to be featured on a brand new EP: the bobbing, deep hypnotism of 'Wobbler' and the downtempo 'Slowmo' - a masterclass in melancholy and meditative house.

Needless to say the rest of the anthology is all killer no filler and today, we are proud to premiere Patrick's reworking of  'Almost Nothing' by Adultnapper (aka Francis Harris of Frank & Tony). The third track off the compilation is a skilfully layered dancefloor bomb, bound by its simple, yet brutally effective synth riff.

French techno legend Laurent Garnier is among the second batch of those adapting Input-Output to their own artistic vision, selecting the song "Air Castle" as his target. The Legion of Honor awardee takes things into a darker realm with his rendition, maintaining some of the original's more celestial synth elements, yet muddling them down into a scintillating mixture of muted synthesizers and deep, throbbing kicks that positively hypnotize the listener.

An artist who found success with his "Alter Ego" in September 2018, Andre Sobota once again demonstrated his sizeable talent on Proton Music. Returning to the EP, "Held Over" now receives Particles remixes from the UK and Russia with a timely reminder of the original.

Entering a brave new world where his music "traverses a genreless music landscape", David Ridley has carved out a sizeable niche with a production style that combines ambient and electronica with progressive and deep house. Add a dash of techno and the whole gamut of underground dance music is represented within a unique approach to his craft under the We Are All Astronauts soubriquet. Forming a close relationship with Mango Alley, We Are All Astronauts has been a regular on the monthly Frisky Radio "Alleys Show". Ridley's work for Mango's label has been no less impressive with a score of production credits stretching over a five-year period that has seen a number of collaborations with Seawaves and a standout solo offering in "Cerulean Sky". Silk Music, Klangwelt and Visceral have also played host to the We Are All Astronauts sound while a pair of remixes for Lanvary in October 2016 and Sed Project in December 2017 saw impressive contributions for Particles. Now returning to remix "Held Over", sumptuous melodies with their roots firmly in Sobota's original, blossom into new and vibrant directions. A harmonically rich bassline pulsates gently in rasping, open filtered dynamism while shimmering arpeggios glisten across the mid-range with growing intensity as the track evolves. A rolling groove and driving beat add further to a magical new interpretation.

An advocate of "true progressive house" represented by John Digweed's Global Underground albums at the turn of the millennium, Anton Vishniakov has continued to chart his own successful path under the Rise and Fall moniker. A 2013 debut for Monster Deep quickly established him with support from Hernan Cattaneo, Max Graham, and Jerome Isma-Ae, while a double century of credits saw a reputation grow with almost half found on the renowned Bonzai Progressive. JOOF, Temporum and Clepsydra have also played a role in championing the Rise and Fall sound. Moreover, a clutch of releases for Particles saw appearances on the "Winter 2014" and "Fall 2016" compilations and "The Vision" and "Traffic Lights" turned in to full releases of their own. A trio of remixes for heavyweights Biologik, Derek Howell and Michael A has showcased a different skill set and it is pleasure to welcome back Rise and Fall with a driving dancefloor destroyer that is full of dark menace. Backed by a framework of heavy beat and high-energy off-beat percussion a seismic bassline rumbles across the low-end. Countered by textured pads a free-flowing lead line that makes its presence felt at the breakdown, the track explodes into the third movement with a glorious array of pulsating rhythm and melody that provides a new and unique spin on Sobota's track.

For this second opus by Mimesis, we’re glad to invite a talent from the South of France : Mark Höffen. Ableton instructor, sound designer, musician, he has more than one trick up his sleeve to say the least. His productions have been played around the world in 2 years and he’s now going to sign his come back for 2019-2020. 
This is the first release before he comes back in the course of the year and as always, he uses his synthesizers with perfection. Clearly, emotion and sound design are the key words that define him the most. 

He’s remixed by the Italian Ivory that has been spotted by Dixon, Ame, Tale of us...

PREMIERE : Mark Höffen - Hic & Nunc (Original Mix) [Mimesis]

Over the course of the last three plus decades, the German born DJ, musician and composer Marc Romboy has become synonymous with a soulful electronic music sound that has taken him all over the world. As well as releasing on only the most influential labels, from Innervisions to Cocoon and Kompakt to Senso Sounds, he is also the sole mastermind behind the influential Systematic Recordings label and has been since 2004.

Nowadays an album specialist, 2006 saw him release his debut album, the captivating „Gemini" whilst in 2017 Marc released his first listening long player called „Voyage de la planète“, a pure electronica album with classical music influence and later, in summer 2017 the live recording of his collaboration with the Dortmund Philharmonic Orchestra called „Reconstructing Debussy“, in cooperation with Boiler Room hit the stores.

Despite being a key player for so long, Marc is still as relevant as ever and remains right at the sharp end of electronic music. Proof of that comes in the form of his DJ schedule, which takes him from Fabric to Womb and Berghain to Rex, as well as to not one but three separate Boiler Room shows. All three proved Marc to be a dexterous performer who never relies on obviousness or gimmicks, instead telling truly musical stories that place dancers right at the heart of the action.
