Pereyra Park is famous for containing the enigmatic "Crystal Tree" Agathis Alba (Arbol de Cristal, brought in the mid-nineteenth century by Leonardo Higinio Pereyra himself from Indochina, it is the only one of the 12 offspring of the Agathis Alba species that managed to survive in the green space and also in South America.
