Unsere „Auf zu Neuen Dächern“ Reihe wird heute glatte 20 Lenzen alt und der Kranich damit buchstäblich zum alten Hasen. Umso mehr freuen wir uns, dass unser Podcast-Jubiläum der Plattenkiste von „Elias Doré“ entspringt: Der gebürtige Berliner sammelte zahlreiche Erfahrungen in Bands diverser Genres von Afro-Funk über Klezmer bis hin zu Reggae und Soul, bevor er sich vor nicht allzu langer Zeit vollends der elektronischen Musik hingegeben hat. Mit dem Kurswechsel ist er sich dabei insofern treu geblieben, als dass seine Musik keine Spur der Wärme vermissen lässt, die er regelmäßig auf die Bühne gebracht hat: Seine Sets sind geprägt von der Liebe zu organischen Klängen und geradezu verspielten Melodien, die bereits die ein oder andere glückselige Floor-Umarmung zu verbuchen haben. Eine Direktinjektion Serotonin pur gegen die herbstliche Trübe – wir wünschen euch viel Spaß und freuen uns, „Elias Doré“ bald wieder auf dem Dach begrüßen zu dürfen.

“I had this idea to make a video for ‘A Case For Shame’ which actually ended up informing the entire visual scheme of Innocents. In the video, someone dies – maybe they killed themselves out of a sense of shame – and they enter this other world, populated by these ghost creatures wearing masks. They look scary, but they’re actually covering their face because they’re ashamed. When you see someone wearing a scary mask, the first thought is, “What’s going on? That’s intimidating.” But they’re actually hiding – it’s the most blatant act of concealing oneself. ‘A Case For Shame” is one of two songs I collaborated on with Cold Specks. She’s quite shy, and preferred to be left alone in the studio, so I’d hit ‘record,’ go have some tea, then come back in and press ‘stop.’”
