Hello lovely people, finallyyyyy here it is: my set from Akasha Festival 2021. 

I will never forget this magical morning. This was just something else... working on the Akasha grounds for weeks and then releasing it all into this 6 hours sunrise set that I got to play. So grateful for this morning and that hell of a vibe!! 

Fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride! 🚀

PS: the reason it took me so long to upload this set is that I had to re-record a little missing part. I played for 4 hours and was then told to stop. So I packed up all my things and unplugged the recorder. As it turned out I was allowed to play another 2 magical hours. I pressed play on my recorder and 1,5 hours into the second part of my set I realized that I didn’t plug the recorder into the mixer. At least I luckily recorded the athmo of that part and was therefore able to recreate the missing piece at home last week. So HERE WE GO! ❤️

I couldn't have been happier that the energy in the Dampfer was so loaded, till the last second I felt overwhelmed by the power. Hope to be back one day and play for you again without this break. Thanks for dancing. Enjoy this part until the electricity went down that I captured from a night that won't be forgotten.

50 Runden im Igelkarussell – zur Jubiläumsfeier dreht Frida Darko mit uns und euch diese goldene Runde!

Kommen wir ohne Umwege zur Sache: Diese junge Dame hat eine schwindelerregende Entwicklung hingelegt. Noch vor zweieinhalb Jahren begann die damalige Wahlgießenerin ihre DJ Karriere und binnen kürzester Zeit ist sie zu einer der gefragtesten Newcomerinnen der Szene aufgestiegen. Im Einklang mit ihrer stets frӧhlichen und unbeschwerten Art eroberte ihr scheinbar gegensätzlicher Darko-Sound rasant die Herzen der Downtempo-Liebhaber. Mittlerweile hat sie den charakteristischen ‚Darkostyle‘ bereits in einen etablierten Stil, und ihr Hobby längst zur Profession entwickelt. Dementsprechend – und insbesondere seit ihrem Beitritt zur @rebelliondertraumer -Crew – sind die Meilensteine ihrer Karriere nun kaum aufzuzählen: Zählt ihr 3 Stunden Set zur Prime Time auf dem Sonnendeck der Fusion wohl als Ritterschlag in der DJ-Szene, so bildet ihr Auftritt auf der Atlantis Stage der @Bucht-der-traeumer den krӧnenden Abschluss einer Festivalsaison, die sich sehen lassen kann. Ob @katzensprung, Am Bach, @3000-grad Festival oder viele weitere, für uns war die gemeinsame Zeit auf der Bucht ein wahres Highlight! In einer bittersüßen Hommage an unsere Camping-Crew entschied sie sich für ein Foto für das Podcastcover, auf dem wir allesamt den Auftritt von @Brigadeberlin – deiner neuen Lieblings-Boyband (!) – das Leben sowie den Moment ausgelassen zelebrierten als gäbe es kein Morgen … <3 Und als wenn das nicht schon alles genug wäre, brachte sie im März dann noch gemeinsam mit @casanova_tony ihre erste EP raus, auf der @Arutani und @Detmolt einen fantastischen Remix beisteuerten😻

Ihr Set für uns kombiniert Wehmut über die Festival-Zwangspause mit trӧstender Hoffnung auf die Zeit nach der Pandemie. Eine klangvolle Symbiose aus melancholischen Melodien und rollenden Beats entfesseln eine verträumte und dennoch treibende Energie, die uns das Nicht-Zusammen-Feiern-Können kurz mal vergessen lässt! Mit viel Fingerspitzengefühl mischt sie Tracks ab, die sie schon lange einmal spielen wollte, aber nicht wirklich für den Dancefloor bestimmt sind, wie sie selbst sagt… Darkostyle meets #stayathome – lasst uns gemeinsam geduldig bleiben und uns auf die erste unbeschwerte Umarmung, die erste Party, das erste Konzert und das erste Festival nach Corona freuen. Kaum vorzustellen, wie sich das begleitet von einem Set von Frida Darko anfühlen wird - Wir könnens kaum erwarten!

If all went according to plan you wouldn’t be the least interested in this text. Indeed the story of young Velten who leaves his hometown in the Black Forest to find an orderly apprenticeship in Berlin and who grows up over time – such a story wouldn’t be very gripping. Fortunately there is a club in Berlin that is called „Ostgut“ and people like Velten who like to make irrational decisions from time to time. The outcome is foreseeable: instead of sitting in the subway on his way to work, on a Monday morning, Velten much rather joins his pals in his run down flat for an after hour. Luckily these pals not only share their passion for sheer endless nights, but also start to organise eventseries, open bars or turn a rundown Berlin backyard into a club. This is exactly the path that turned Velten within a short period of time into a DJ, producer and finally KATERMUKKE label boss DIRTY DOERING. 

In the beginning it’s more about beer and liquor. Velten trades the office-desk for the bar counter and lends the prospective Berlin Techno-celebrities a hand on their way to delirium. The fact that he regularly provides them with his own DJ-Mix tapes comes in quite handily. Back then hi sets are inspired by the same staggering hedonistic vibe, that lures more and more people into the small bar between Holzmarkt street and the bank of the Spree: Bar 25 is slowly making waves. Here, they’ve been waiting for someone like Velten. Eventually DIRTY DOERING becomes an essential part of BAR 25. The guy behind the counter turns into a resident DJ, the queue in front of the club is getting longer and longer and friends become family. Outside of Berlin DIRTY DOERING is in everyone’s ears by 2010 the latest: With „I Would“ and the fitting video, full of colourful, out of time moving people, he not only reflects the sound but primarily the lifestyle of BAR 25, to the point where the whole world wants to dance with him on the shores of the Spree river.

Since then a lot has happened: DJ Bookings from New York to Tokyo, BAR 25 has been shut down and reopened and meanwhile DIRTY DOERING has burnt down all dance floors with every new release or remix he has released. Eventually the BAR 25 era came to an end and the Kater-era started. Naturally it was Velten, who had the idea of founding the appending label KATERMUKKE. He’s been releasing music on the label ever since – no less colourful and varied than his DJ Sets. Whether it’s deep or impellent, weirdly enchanted or crystal clear – DIRTY DOERING and KATERMUKKE don’t tie themselves down but still know where the journey should go: Onwards, escaping daily routines, straight ahead into this insanely liberating feeling, where the beat means everything and the thought of the morning after counts for nothing. LOST IN MUSIC.

Whether it’s behind the scenes or behind the decks, Marcus Meinhardt is definitely one of the most active members of the German club scene. The thirty-something Dj has defined the Berlin sound with his countless club gigs including his residency at the world renowned Watergate club. He is also a welcome guest on the international electronic parquet with his elegant, hypnotizing sets and sympathetic nature. He is a true character in the electronic music scene. Marcus is also a well known party organizer in and around Berlin; the Home Sweet Home parties have taken the cities best after hour locations by storm,. The famed Muna-Tent at the SonneMondSterne Festival would not be where it is today if it wasn’t for Markus’ co organization and closing sets.

He was born in the quiet county of Thüringen, where, once infected by the techno bug, he soon took up residency at the Muna, one of East Germany’s most renowned clubs. During this time he and the Muna team began organizing the SonneMondSterne-Festival, which, today is one of Europe’s largest and most famous Open Air’s.

Marcus finally moved to Berlin in 2002 where he took a head dive into the pulsating club scene that gave him enough room to experiment musically. This inspired him to begin producing his own tracks. His first EP was released in 2006 on Micro.Fon. In the beginning of 2007 Markus and his friends Marco Resmann and Hawks Grunert founded the label Upon You, which has managed to establish itself as one of the most important Tech-House-Labels in such short a time. His fine sense of Intuition for the dance floor can be detected when listening to his subtle arrangements and finely balanced sounds. Proof being »Drive It Mad Max«, »Pacey Lynn«, or »Jerry Lee« which are among the most successful Upon You releases to date. The Superflu Remix of Mad Max even made it on to Beatport’s »Best Underground Sellers 2009« list.

Marcus has learned a lot about the specialties of the music business through his work with Upon You. His commitment has made the label nights in Berlin’s Panorama Bar and arena club, Stuttgart’s Romy S and the international venues in Barcelona, Amsterdam and Milan as successful as they are. Marcus also helped to find new artists for the label Upon You. These days, Resmann and Grunert continue with the labelwork of Upon You while Meinhardt focus solely on his creative output.

In 2010 and 2011 he concentrated on his music production and travelled through the world presenting his musical ideas. On his journey Marcus was influenced and inspired by many musical genres and artists. As a result, Marcus decided to found his own Label called „Heinz-Music“ this forward thinking label will be a platform where his fellow artists and friends can have fun with and enjoy a musical experience mainly orientated on dance floor music.
