Being a production line of carefully crafted composition with a meticulous production standard, Calyx & Teebee have delivered yet again. And after dominating the Beatport Top 100 with their most recent single ‘A Day That Never Comes / Snakes & Ladders’, they won’t be applying the brakes anytime soon, especially in the lead up to their greatly anticipated second album on the Ram imprint.

Back on vocal duties, Calyx demonstrates the pair’s multi-dimensional approach to beat making. With plucky percussion relaying you through bouncing subs and a drivingly solid bassline, it defines their vast repertoire of style. They’re not scared to dip into unfamiliar territories, with Calyx’s cool vocals sitting on top of lulling guitar rhythms to provide the first part of a diverse and brilliantly crafted record. 

With an album laying just out of reach, each single is bringing us closer and closer to the inevitable. All four tracks prove their still a formidable force to be reckoned with; this LP will only emphasise that fact.

I'm a fan. Mainly because Splice is fun but also because working on music while travelling was always frustrating for me... saying to people "i'll look at it when i get back to the studio" got boring. With Splice i don't have to stop working. I have everything at my fingertips. It's made me more versatile and think out of the box. We get in comfort zones, using the same old sounds; but that has changed.  

I wanted to be a part of it and contribute to the platform. So i did. Here is my first pack of sounds and loops for you to experiment with and hopefully incorporate in your go-to library of sounds.  The pack is called SAD ROBOT MUSIC  (i think that's what i'm known for. Kinda emotional vocal style and chords in a cold electronic world.)  

You'll find vocal chops, quirky drums, sad old synths, loops, moments, shiny things and lo fi things. I put a lot of time into it and I hope it gets people writing and producing in ways they wouldn't have otherwise. Have fun with it!

FKJ - Jet Jam Mixtape #3

I truly love music played on reverberant objects, emitted through the air, and then captured with a mic. But I was locked on the inside for these particular sessions, tinkering w/ notes & staffs & knobs & virtual instruments. A closet musician, if you will. As such, the first quarter of this century is nearly in the books and all my online songs play from a written score output through synth voices.  I do really work it tho.  My studio will soon offer more tools, I hope, so stick with me and we'll see where this goes.
