Since 1991, Tresor has provided a home for artists to develop their ideas for advanced new sounds and broadcast them to the world. The pioneers that first traversed the Detroit-Berlin connection and were at the forefront of a new cultural movement gave to Tresor its original and continuing mission: community, resistance and reshaping the world to come.

The Tresor 30 compilation represents a major landmark in this continuing history of electronic music. This unique collection of music profiles some of the artists that gave the previous three decades of Tresor its sound and foundation, but it also casts its gaze forward. Writing new postcards from the future, this collection brings new artists who maintain a connection to that original mission to the fore, charting ways in which this ethos can continue to build bridges and break walls in the next 30 years.

Unrush founder Mareena has been very busy since her last in-house contribution to the series. Her collaboration with JakoJako on Muzan Editions stunned listeners with its bright palette and nocturnal nuance, while their contribution to the Tresor Records 30 Years Compilation solidified this collaboration as a project to watch. Both of these releases displayed the refinement of her production skills, where her dedication to modular synthesis has transpired into a palpable passion for discovering new sonic pathways. It's safe to say Mareena is no longer just an adept DJ, but also a versatile producer as well. 

Unrush itself has grown too. With over 60 mixes and 4 compilations released to date, the series has expanded to include a broad family of artists and shows no signs of slowing down. To celebrate these achievements, we are pleased to present Mareena's fourth mix for the series, where she gracefully weaves the past into the future, giving us a glimpse of what is to come.

The light and dark, the fast and slow, the loud and quiet - one cannot exist without the other and opposing qualities, in balance, each bring out the best in life - and often also in music. Berlin-based artist Mareena embodies this interplay perfectly. May it be through her well-built Techno DJ Sets in Clubs all over the world or as Podcast host and Label Owner of the always calming and ever-giving UNRUSH series - Mareena understood the integration of this dualism like few other artists nowadays. A catch-up between Delayed and her was long overdue and our discussion expanded from the 90’ies, over timeless music to the challenges of the life of an artist these days.

This is what Mareena said about the mix:
'I had a lot of ideas for a calm mix. I ended up with a dub techno mix. A genre that is sticking with me since my beginnings. I can't get tired of chords and delays. Since your platform is called “Delayed” it seemed just appropriate ;) The mix is recorded between 115 – 120 BPM. I wanted to create something more chill. A mix you listen to while cooking, having friends over or wandering around the streets. My idea was a deeper psychedelic vibe rather than the usual dance floor music.'

In the early hours of Friday morning, from 7 to 9 am, I had the honour of gracing the stage of this iconic festival – a place that holds a special place in my heart since my first visit in 2001. Fusion has always been the epitome of what a festival should be, and being invited to play on the main stage was a dream coming true.

For this sunrise set, I didn't go straight for the heavy bangers. Instead, I carefully curated a selection of tracks that were meant to ignite that special colourful energy as the festival prepared to take it´s morning rest soon. This set is a mix of vinyl gems, with a few digital exclusives sprinkled in. This warmth and authenticity of vinyl mixing, especially that magical low end quality, on a sound system like Lambda Labs, takes precedence over the perfectly polished digital mixes.

I really hope you have a great time with this set, just like I did when I played it. Unfortunately, we hit some technical snags at the beginning, so that part got cut off...
