With proud and joy here we are with our new 7", a double-sider with an infectious groove and a guaranteed dancefloor appeal, strictly from the city of Naples.

"Maledetta Discoteca"
Our idea was to create an anthem, a theme song or – as we say in Italian - a “Sigla”, as it was done in the 70’s.
The inspiration was taken just looking through our 7" vinyls. Many of them were in fact theme songs from Tv Shows or Radio Station Shows: it was very common during that historical period and most of the time these anthems were super funky, disco and groovy as we like the most.
The lyrics? Of course they are dedicated to that magic room that was and still is the disco club, La Discoteca. Simply, one of the best places ever created to fall in love! In love with a record, a boy, a girl or your best friend sometimes. A dreamy place you would never want to leave.
So, why not? We decided to stay inside la Discoteca forever, creating this super-hot “Maledetta Discoteca anthem” to dance our ass off!
And yes, we did it!

FOLLOW ME - Extended Mix

To our delight, African funk master Jagger Botchway has been busy in the studio, getting to work on a rare soca and highlife record with a number of musicians he collaborated with from various points of his career. Cultures of Soul have striven to find a host of relevant remixers to match up to Jagger's achivements. These names, already schooled in the colourful sounds of Afro-funk, feature Berlin's Africaine 808, Switzerland's Alma Negra, New York's Names You Can Trust and Manchester's Ruf Dug – whose "Tight Disco Dub" of "Moko Le Dzen" trumps the rest as our favourite. Heavily led by a percussive backbone, the rework takes us on an intercontinental journey of instruments, between African drumming patterns and a conventional Western drum kit. This is further invigorated by a reverb-rich trumpet line and a synth line peppered by chordal stabs throughout. A surefire way to ensure a workout on any dancefloor.

DSR is back with a new 7" release by Norwegian fivesome hubbabubbaklubb.

The band, of which Danish edit maestro Joystick Jay is a member, weave an all-live smooth disco vibe with toasty warm synths and a stoned summer aura.

'Mopedbart' is best mixed with a hammock, cold beer and a sunset as it jams along with mellow pads, hand claps and the story of a dude cruising around town on his scooter living it easy. 'Lille Sote Svanse' picks up the pace for a popping disco cut which simmers away with its bass-heavy groove before giving way to a stunning Rick Wright-inspired lead break journey into the stratosphere.

Both sides ooze colour and transport anybody within earshot straight to a toasty world of deck chairs, disco dancing and good times.

hubbabubbaklubb - Lille Søte Svanse (DSR007)

In October last year Pete Josef's second album «I Rise With The Birds» came out. Now Sonar Kollektiv has decided to release four remixes of three different songs off the fantastic album. First of all there is the Jazzanova remix of «Giants», which almost completely gets rid of the vocals, but all the more absorbs the zeitgeist - a remix probably working perfectly for a group of battling breakdancers. The program continues with a remix by Pete Josef himself. The Englishman strips down «This Sun» to its basic structure, then simply building a modern Salsa track out of it. Which brings us to the remix by Friend Within. The Liverpool producer and Pete Josef have been friends for many years, dating back to a 2013 collaboration («The Work») that made it onto Disclosure's Mixmag mix CD. «Mainframe» sounds super fresh after Friend Within's rework and seems like the party banger we've been looking forward to for months! But what Feiertag finally takes the liberty of doing with his remix of «Giants» is beyond imagination. Far away from the original Feiertag's interpretation moves in dark downtempo realms - dubby and spheric at the same time. In short: Each of the four remixes is a small masterpiece on its own.

Community, music label and event company based in São Paulo. Mareh Music originated in 2003 from its namesake festival on Boipeba-Island, Bahia. Ever since it has been standing out due to its musical curatorship and special attention with its audience, thusly acquiring admirers all over the world.
