Born in Jakarta, in the 80’s @dea-barandana grew up with the sound of Indonesian city pop and new wave. Nowadays he lives in Bali, where he's a resident DJ at Potatohead Beach Club. We had a pleasure to have Dea here in 2019 for NYE playing at Bar da Praia. 

Described by Gilles Peterson as ‘The best DJ I’ve heard in 10 years’, Dea recorded a mixtape for us playing some rare world songs.

Mareh Mix - Episode #42: Dea Barandana

Community, music label and event company based in São Paulo. Mareh Music originated in 2003 from its first festival on Boipeba-Island in Bahia. Ever since it has been standing out due to its musical curatorship and special attention with its audience, thusly acquiring admirers all over the world.  Besides that, the Label is running other projects as the bimonthly Babel urban parties that take place in the rooftops of the most incredible locations and Marisco Festival, that the mission is to provide the connection between Brazilian and international groove. In the last years, along with the acclaimed festivals Mareh has also released EP’s from reputed artists attracting the specialized critics. Within its releases it’s valid to point out the 10″ dedicated to tropical disco edits by the independent label Barefoot Beats.
