Captured live at la Milagrosa - a hidden gem tucked behind a bodega freezer door in laundromat in Brooklyn - this 2-hour excerpt documents the heart of a 5-hour set I played as part of my Summer Thursday residency. It’s a journey that moves with intention: raw and unpredictable. Somewhere between a basement session and a barrio block party, this night spiraled through global rhythms, some deep cuts, and late-night soul transmissions.

So I spent 3 weeks preparing my authentic vinyl versions set for the Hacienda Residents Christmas Party on 27th December 2016. 
In the true spirit of capturing a moment in time, I limited myself to playing only the tunes that I actually played when I was resident over 1985 and 1986 - the original vinyl mixes and rare versions with a couple of digital wav files, with only one exception era-wise - see if you can spot it (trainspotter alert). 
All of them went on to become classics.
I sorted out so many tunes that I only managed to play probably 5% of the classic waxings that I had available!  
I will play some of them at my next Hacienda event.  I do hope you enjoy . xxx

It's been 30 years since I started playing records to people, so I thought I'd dig a few of them out and go back to 'about that time'. Enjoy some of the tracks me, my friends (Dave, Ally, McNiv, Jaki, Marcus, Stevie, Ryan, Gourley, Jeff, Tim, Ross, Laura, Neeps, Ruth, Mike (RIP)and Aimi) and dancers enjoyed.

There's also a homage to the DJs that changed the way I approached playing records; not only to play great songs but to try and arrange technically to perfection. Shouts to Sasha, Paul Ritchie and Harri.

Community, music label and event company based in São Paulo. Mareh Music originated in 2003 from its namesake festival on Boipeba-Island, Bahia. Ever since it has been standing out due to its musical curatorship and special attention with its audience, thusly acquiring admirers all over the world.  Besides that, the Label is running other projects as the bimonthly Babel urban parties that take place in the rooftops of the most incredible locations and Marisco Festival, that the mission is to provide the connection between Brazilian and international groove. Along with the acclaimed festivals Mareh has also released EP’s from reputed artists attracting the specialized critics.
